With regards to [Waterproof Pipes].[Mainly answered]

Citation please. I'm pretty sure Omicron is right on that one.

Best way to generate MASSIVE ammounts of EU?

What are you talking about? We're talking about Power Converters, not Steam Turbines. It's nice that Railcraft provides a more efficient conversion of steam to EU than the conversion of steam to MJ to EU would allow, but Power Converters follows the simple ratio of MJ/EU that you get if you just...

    Tell me about your bees

It's like this. Each time you cross breed two pure parents, you have 100%xM (where M is the mutation chance) to get a hybrid of the species you want, and a 100%xM^2 chance of getting a pure of the species you want. If you breed two hybrids together, you get a 25% chance of pure, 50% chance of...

How can I figure out what is sucking the power out of my Redstone Energy Cell?

Because we want to build a complex system that we came up with and thought of, not the complex system that a particular mod dev forces us to. Maybe I want to build an automatic noteblock system that plays Carmina Burana whenever someone walks by my base. That's going to be pretty complex. Before...

    Tell me about your bees

The multiblock hives (alvearies) work exactly like the smaller version. And they require tons of material that you get from the smaller hives (apiaries), so I'd focus on learning to automate the smaller hives first. One thing that not a lot of people tell you is that a pretty important part of...

Best way to generate MASSIVE ammounts of EU?

Either/both. A lot of people will run solid fuel boilers off charcoal while also running liquid fuel off ethanol. Generally i think you can run more liquid boilers than solid ones from the same size tree farm, but i haven't done tree farms for power in months so my math may be off.

Best way to generate MASSIVE ammounts of EU?

Steam consumers will accept up to 1000mb/t of steam. 36HP boilers produce 720 mb/t.

Best way to generate MASSIVE ammounts of EU?

That's odd, how are you getting a conversion of 100kMJ/t to 143k EU/t? Shouldn't the ratio be 2:5 with PowerConverters?

How can I figure out what is sucking the power out of my Redstone Energy Cell?

It's like this. Enigmius (once you get past his innate irascibility) isn't against configs because he wants to enforce a style of play on others. He's stated before that he's all for people playing with mods however they personally happen to enjoy playing them. What he's against is using...

How can I figure out what is sucking the power out of my Redstone Energy Cell?

Because nobody is actually demanding that the BC mods change buildcraft. We're simply pointing out that it's a bad design decision and we'll use other mods that fit the way we enjoy playing the game better.

    Thermal Expansion Status

UE was a good idea with an absolutely terrible implementation. You don't really make a 'universal' power system by creating one with more complications and weirdness than the current standards. Nobody is going to bother with it. If anything, Power Converters came closest with its relatively...

Changes to bee breeding for Unleashed 1.1.4

That makes no sense. Why would a chocolate frame, which is supposed to provide more production at the expense of a shorter lifespan have a smaller production bonus than an impregnated frame, which is needed in the recipe for the chocolate frame? I may be wrong; I certainly haven't had any of my...

How can I figure out what is sucking the power out of my Redstone Energy Cell?

Yes, it jumps from early-game subsistence/survival to mid-game infrastructure building. See, for me, the different phases of modded minecraft as follows: 1. Early game - mostly similar to vanilla, this is where you mine everything by hand, craft everything by hand, and set up basic, manually...

    Wheres my Logger?!

Forestry, the mod that adds the logger/arboretum, updated and removed those items in favor of the Multifarm which is very different. You are probably watching older videos, or people playing an the older version of one of the ftb modpacks. I don't know what modpack you are play, but I'm guessing...

Changes to bee breeding for Unleashed 1.1.4

Watch out for the 4x frame rule of thumb. That applies to impregnated and untreated frames. Chocolate frames add more production which will put you over the limit. A guy on my server had all his bees turn to swarmers because he was using chocolate frames. Another big new thing is the...

How can I figure out what is sucking the power out of my Redstone Energy Cell?

Can you set up a system to collect dyes from the dyed bees? I haven't tried that yet, but I'm thinking of doing so now that I have a project planned with construction foam that will need to be colored in. Interesting. why not connect the REC to the subnet with conduits, but use structure pipes...

    Thermal Expansion Status

True, I suppose it is important to differentiate the chemical source of the heat from a frictional or nuclear source. But ultimately it's the heat that's key to moving the pistons, not the mechanism that causes the gasoline to burn. Unlike, for example, an electric car which is driven by the...

Anyone using 9 or close to 9 different inputs into MFR Bioreactor ?

Picked by what? I'm curious as to what mod picks up the melon/pumpkin stem when farming them.

    Thermal Expansion Status

Nope, the internal combustion engine, as denoted by the term "combustion" works through heat. Specifically, the property of heated gases to expand. This expansion pushes a piston. Thus converting the heat from setting gasoline on fire into mechanical energy.

    Thermal Expansion Status

The thing is, all energy in the real world IS convertible to each other, albeit with losses at the conversion. While it would be incorrect to say that "electricity" is the universal power source, it is fairly trivial to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. That's how a those...
