    New Thermal Expansion functionality/item: Tesseracts

Yep, which is precisely why balance is a fair topic - modders take this ecosystem into account when designing. There may be no rulebook in the sandbox, but there's an unwritten code (get it?) If you were Pahimar, you'd likely spend an inordinate amount of your day thinking about an item's value...

Automated Crafting in Mindcrack pack [Tutorial]

I remember that thread / picture (I think I even tossed it a 'like'), thank you for putting it in 3d! You missed the golem autocrafter at the end, which I wouldn't consider high-end, depending on the value you attribute TC3 and research. But you bring up a point about scale - in any of these...

An idea to prevent Nether lava exploitation

There's the best idea, really. A self-imposed limitation in SSP (for me) is not touching nether lava. Collecting it from finite / smaller overworld sources (much like oil) is far less boring, and makes the devices that use it feel balanced, including the centrifuge recipe which had to be nerfed...

    Boiler mj to eu

Also, if you are going to assign a cost to his steel from a process that it will never come from (sensibly), then wouldn't it make sense to assign the UUM cost for your lava in order to make a proper comparison?

    Best Assembly Table Setup?

I knew someone would see that coming.. So one wall is clearly not enough. We want to know the upper limits of a single table, surely! And make our villagers "ooh" and "aah". Of course, you have to build yourself "in", to get the maximum laser count of 602, dictated by the 4-space...

    Invar ingots? What?

Don't run your fuel pipes adjacent to the boiler tank (those are steam output interfaces).

    GregTech's changes and Ore Gen

Config it or don't use it at all, then. Simple. Why bother insisting a mod should bend to your will when it already can? Who necro'd this atrocity of tears, anyhow?

    Best Assembly Table Setup?

You said: I was suggesting to check your setup, providing maths and pictures that show you do not need anywhere near 1600MJ/t over 16 cells to make that work. And that 'full blast' visually is actually around 25% less then the lasers will take.

    Best Assembly Table Setup?

Check your wiring? 11x11 = 121 lasers, needing an assumed total of 484MJ/t. Here is your 11x11 running on merely 400MJ/t (5 RECs @ 80/t). As noted above, either the cell is outputting more then it claims, or the laser requirement is under 4 (or there is varying degrees of 'blue'). What...

    Best Assembly Table Setup?

I dream about boilers. Boilers with indies stuck to them like fridge magnets, octopus boilers with liquiduct arms writhing everywhere, self-aware boilers turning little Steves into batteries, boilers reading Simulacra and Simulation to an audience of turbines. I don't get nearly as hopped up...

    Best Assembly Table Setup?

Should be 4mj/t per laser, though judging by the laser color on a redstone cell it's closer to 3mj/t. The color will indicate the efficiency - red, yellow, green, blue in ascending order. Once a redstone cell hits the 24MJ/t mark, all 8 lasers will go blue, so there might be some rounding down...

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

My experience so far (in 2.0.0.3) has been: not 200 blocks north of my house, this, at level 88. The whole chunk of apatite already mined out of the picture netted me around 4 stacks (without Fortune) .. I left because my inventory was full. I really have no need to mine this for a while...

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

No clue, either, Kirin. I've had the smallest default treefarm in 2.0.0.3 running for just over 30 minutes on 4 mj/t - roughly 3 stacks of wood, 3 stacks of apples, 4 stacks (!) of saplings, and barely touched the stack of fertilizer I put in. Moving apatite out of the mines was a great idea. 10...

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

Rubber farms were already out of control, automation-wise. Greg has lowered the return on the 16 wood recipe to 1 methane cell anyhow, regardless of Forestry's new farms. Steve's Carts would just be ridiculous. I prefer methane in the gas turbine, as it seems the intent was there rather than...

    "old" Forestry Farms

The old tree farm had 44 plantable slots, required several diamonds, etc. The smallest multifarm has ~72 plant blocks, and damn near 200 on the largest plot. If by nerf you mean made it bigger and better, then, sure.

    Fortune favors the cold

So I built my first Forestry 2.0 multifarm in a new instance. Realizing afterward that I had no Apatite, I struck out for the frozen hills north of my new home, where I stumbled upon my first TC3 obsidian pigman brouhaha (right next to a rather large vein of apatite). Opening the chest, and...

Nether lava pumps with chunk loaders are bad?

Oh man, I knew that looked familiar ... Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, classic! "Room for One More" is about the only short I can remember .. GD, that was 30 years ago /mourn youth

    Frame airships

Dark was correct (not auto'd yet), but the answer to your second question is yes. Abdiel hinted at it earlier with GT buffers and translocators, which are really perfect for a compact 'get drills in and out' scenario (great for nukes as well). Both of those blocks have the added benefit of...

    New Thermal Expansion functionality/item: Tesseracts

The Induction Smelter requires a pair of invar now as well, so the progression is natural. I set up a new MultiMC instance several days ago, and through the basic pulverize/furnace cycle of a couple of stacks of iron, I had more than enough ferrous dust to both create the smelter and upgrade...

    New Thermal Expansion functionality/item: Tesseracts

There is something to be said about "because it's cool" .. because ultimately, the most efficient designs often end up being somewhat boring. What Etho has been trying to do with Railcraft lately is a perfect example of why tracks are fun.
