    I think it depends on how long you intend to play the world. If you're going to drop it on the next big release, it's probably not worth it. If you're going to hold it for several months, half a year or more, than I'd say use it.

    As long as we're able to make cobble stone infinitely it will always be considered OP. Doesn't matter how little value he makes it, or what he does, as long as we can make things infinitely and transmute them into other things, EE will be considered OP.

    Above ground or below?

    I start in a cave (preferably in a cliff wall). Makes it easy to just dig out a room when needed. Once I have enough rooms of stuff to fill a house I plan one out them move outside. From there on it's usually outside, unless some cliff is just begging for a base.

    Yeah I wasn't real impressed either. Was really hoping for some IC2 illuminators or some other type that would have required some kind of energy or wiring, or power distribution. But all he did was plant turtles in the air and "turn" them on and off with a wireless light sensor, kind-a weak.

    You should look into the arcane ear. Mixed with some note blocks you can set up some pretty nifty secret entrances.

    Vanilla is so boring now

    I like using vanilla worlds to work on building design. There's a lot less blocks, colors and textures to work with which make you really work out solid designs. When you go back to modded minecraft your builds will look all that much better with all the extras
