How to distribute items evenly in AE

I have a cow pen over sewers to make industrial fertilizer and send it to AE. I have 2 MFR farms next to each other each with a fertilizer, each set up to automatically receive industrial fertilizer. Problem is, my first MFR farm (the one closest to the main AE controller) receives all the...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

I know that using the crucible and the research alter can mess with the flux in your area. Is the same true of a research table? I'm planning on building a full thaumcraft area a little bit away from the main base. But I haven't built it yet. I'm wondering if doing research at the main base...

What is the total EU/t or MJ/t of your system?

11 boilers (1 fuel, 4 biofuel, 6 wood planks) (Might be 12, I forgot if I last counted before or after I added the last boiler). The biofuel and wood planks come from an MFR tree farm that is fed industrial fertilizer from a cow farm/sewer system and a Steve's Carts Tree farm. 5 of the...

    Limit eu/t usage

Except pipes blow up, conduit doesn't.

    MFR Sludge

I leave it in the machine. It doesn't affect the operation, so why bother doing anything with it?

    How do you UU

Not when you add in the 1750 EU/t I get from Power Converters: 12 * 512 + 1750 = 7894 EU/t (during the day, at least). And I underestimated the number of panels I have--it's actually 9 right now. So I'm getting 6382 EU/t during the day and 2329 EU/t at night and when it rains. So I'm making...

    How do you UU

7 ultimate hybrid solar panels along with 5 boilers hooked up via 3 liquid tesseracts to Power Converters to make 1750 EU/t. Once I get to 12 ultimate hybrids (giving me nearly the full 8192 EU/t to the matter fab), I'll make another matter fab.

What Do You Guys Think About Cheating?

I guess that's the good thing about being on a server. The other day, a creeper blew up an ultimate hybrid and 4 hybrids. That's 96 iridium! Yet I never even for 1 nanosecond thought of cheating them back in--because I couldn't. Though, even if I could cheat them in, I probably wouldn't have...

What Do You Guys Think About Cheating?

I personally disagree. If they wanted to ban enchanting chainsaws, they would have banned enchanting chainsaws. They didn't. So how is that cheating?

What Do You Guys Think About Cheating?

The first thing I do in a world, is chop down a tree, make a crafting table, then a wood pickaxe. Then I dig until i have 6 cobble and make a stone axe and stone pickaxe. Your method would save me less than a minute. What's the point?

What Do You Guys Think About Cheating?

Playing on a server, i can't cheat. When I used to play single-player vanilla MC, I used to save just before doing an enchant. That way, if I get a bad enchant, I just load the previous save and try again. I wouldn't do that now, but only because I know how to use MFR auto-enchant to just make...

    Above ground or below?

Generally, I like underground. 1) I suck at building, so I only need a small structure on the surface. 2) Expanding is simply a matter of digging (or using a filler). 3) Your chunkloaders don't have to do a hugely expansive area if you're building down instead of out.

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

Well, two reasons. One is the "paltry" boost of EU (Admittedly going from 200 to 225 isn't a huge deal, and probably not worth the huge cost of steel). Two is that turbines last slightly longer going at 75% than going 100%. Once I had some ultimate hybrid solar cells going, I ended up turning...

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

I guess I was just thinking about real life, where power companies transmit power at really high voltages to minimize losses, then step them down to 120 for the homes. The wiki for fibre cable merely says that it loses 1 EU every 40 blocks, nothing about packet size. So I guess a 32 EU packets...

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

Ah, I forgot about the change. I hadn't used turbines in a while. I don't even know if the change affects version 1.4.7 or not. But to answer your question, it does not consume more steam. The old turbines were 100 EU/t for 320 mB/tick of steam. The new turbines are 200 EU/t for 320 mB/tick of...

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

A single 36 HP boiler can only produce a total 350 EU/tick. Since it is an HV producer, it's creating packets of 512 EU, but at a rate of 350 EU/t. You won't notice the difference unless you attempted to use 512 EU/t (e.g., fill up 4 industrial blast furnaces at once). Then, you'd notice that...

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

Using turbines, you can use three of them at 75% capacity, giving a total of 225 EU/t. If the extra 25 EU/t isn't important to you, you can save a bunch of steel by just connecting two turbines at 100% capacity, giving 200 EU/t total. Nether lava is not infinite. I drained 4 lava lakes in the...

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

I'd always heard that the biogenerator is terrible for EU production. At least, the wiki says it is. Even the wiki says to use the magma crucible/thermal generator combination. The Steam turbine isn't much better, only producing 225 EU/t. But costing over 700 ingots of steel to make, plus 297...

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

I had posted my setup earlier. But our last server crashed and we were forced to start from scratch with a new server. There's probably 10 people on our server, but 4 of us decided to build a joint base, each of us handling different responsibilities. One guy is the bee guy. One guy handled all...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Except: 1) boilers are much harder to explode than combustion engines (I had 4 separate combustion engine explosions before we switched to boilers); and 2) it's not whether you have consumption of 40 MJ/t, it's whether you have plans to have production. Without adequate power, quarries are super...
