That should work. You should uninstall other versions of java before you install that one though, just to be safe.

You have to use 64bit java, assuming you have a 64bit capable computer.

I'm confused right now, and I honestly have no clue why. Lol sorry.

When you launch the pack, and it loads and gets to the screen where it says Minecraft in big letters, that's the main menu of Minecraft.

The main Minecraft options. Its on the main menu.

I think it keeps it balanced, considering you are teleporting energy around. It can be changed in the TE configs though.

Specifically, Options>video settings>quality>connected textures.

You have to have optifine to enable connected textures. You could also use the glass viewers from xycraft, they have a connected texture by default.
