Tesla coils work quite well on players :P Plug one in and activate it. Test it out for yourself, you shouldn't be dissapointed :P- Q009

What is the best way to bring in players to a server?
The best way to bring people is to offer something unique. Perhaps a mod combination? Custom addons? There are always people looking for many different things- Q009

Defending Base Without MFFS
You could also use IC2 tesla coils. They have a range of 4 in every direction (covering an area of 9x9x9 total) and need a solid supply of 128EU/t but man, the damage the do... :)- Q009

FTB Unleashed - is there any land?
It is difficult to get past some of the seas indeed. The best way I've found is to equip yourself with a jetpack (and optionaly an enderchest-based remote charger) and fly all the way across it. It is usually much faster and easier to see the land from high up- Q009
