    Best way to use Biofuel?

Ok, here goes the fuel efficency explanation again. For every 10 MJ/t that I get to produce the instant my fuel chain is setup with combustion engines, you will eventually get to produce around 15 MJ/t. However, my engines are producing for hours while you wait for a sufficient supply to be...

    Best way to use Biofuel?

Ok here goes a 3rd explanation. If you have infinte biofuel it does not matter what you do. If you have finite biofuel (the situation posed here), then efficiency matters. If you wish to engage in a discussion of how to "best" use an infinite resource, feel free. The rate at which you consume...

    Best way to use Biofuel?

I already responded to that argument. Twice. In this thread. My point is that you are just fleeing into the statement that the entire question is silly now that you have been proven wrong. If you need to see my response to that flight, go ahead and read my two existing responses. My responses to...

    Best way to use Biofuel?

I do not know if you can only read every other line, are trolling me, or have a memory that can not make it through reading a 2 page thread. In any case, yay you, you are special! EDIT: Seriously, who comes into a discussion about efficiency and tells people they are wrong, only to later go...

    Best way to use Biofuel?

See the train-racecar analogy. I explained it 3 times in this (necroed) thread, if you still don't get it, that is fine, don't worry about it. Not like the world is going to end.

I did bee math! (Now with more usability!)

You were doing something wrong. 2x uranium ore in a pair of mutators will give pure bred pairs every time, done it many times myself.

At this point all I can say is "don't feed the troll" He seems to believe that by reading half of one function he knows better what the program does than the creator, who has very kindly come to this thread to explain exactly what the changes are for us.

I did bee math! (Now with more usability!)

You seem to have misread/understood. The 16 is a production multiplier limit and it only applies to the bonus from the housing, it ignores the bee itself. This is exactly 4 standard frames in an alveary. The 10 cap is a mutation multiplier cap, and again is based ONLY on the bonus from the...

I did bee math! (Now with more usability!)

You are massively overstating the trouble to get a species up to max speed with extra bees machines. It takes maybe 10 minutes, of which you actually spend a net total of 30 seconds attending to it yourself. Sure you have to find a species with the speed first, but that is no more trouble than...

I did bee math! (Now with more usability!)

A 16 multiplier on the alveary is pretty darn forgiving (4 frames). Assuming you breed in ideal traits you are looking at 100% on a lot of products, and a very good rate on even the rarest. Who this is really going to hurt is the people who do not engage with bees enough to breed in ideal traits...

I did bee math! (Now with more usability!)

Thanks. I have not been watching my twitter all that closely lately. I probably should with all the fun things people are talking about changing in 1.5. If I am reading this right the consequence is that it becomes a "swarmer" princess. Is there any consequence for pushing existing swarmer...

I did bee math! (Now with more usability!)

Final version is up. I got the protected cells to work. For some reason it did not like me protecting it after I made it shared publicly. I am amazed at the lifetime you can get out of even the most stringy bees if you are willing to commit a lot of frames to it.

Awesome news, also probably needed. Right now there is both no point for most people to use swarmers because you can get so much production out of wild bees, and a lesser incentive to breed an ideal bee. Any chance you want to reveal exactly how the system works, numbers and all?

I did bee math! (Now with more usability!)

Interesting, depending on the implementation could make my work pointless or could make it super valuable (depending on consequences, and what exactly triggers it). I think I will still finish up the spreadsheet. I got all the testing and maths done last night and am just finishing up the front...

I did bee math! (Now with more usability!)

I made the next version public back in the OP. I decided to drop the rounding talked about just above entirely. Now it only rounds the basic internal number to account for our imprecision. This MAY result in some errors if you are trying to optimize products moving forward, but given that I am...

I did bee math! (Now with more usability!)

This is evidence enough for me. I will switch it to rounding normally in the next version. Plan to do it tonight or tomorrow. EDIT: Actually in this particular case it is not that we have revealed how the game rounds it, but that I was rounding where I shouldn't have. In actuality the game is...

Any Alternatives to using RP2 Deployers/breakers?

For farming applications you could go to any of the dedicated farming tools. With a config change MFR will even take bonemeal as fertilizer.

Old Adeptcraft - A collection of memories

I think the problem is less how little they produce, and more how much the fertilizers can consume. Using it on a tree is great cause it takes a while to chop it down, fertilizing a 3x3 wheat farm tho runs through an entire stack in seconds.

Old Adeptcraft - A collection of memories

I actually used the in-mod recipe for MFR fertilizer. IIRC it used 2 bonemeal, 2 wheat, a stick, and some string to make 16 fert. I could be wrong on the numbers but I think those were the resources used. I farmed everything but the bonemeal which came from a skele spawner.
