    Can't you stop energy from flowing when nothing is processed, using one of those pipe addons that check the inventory? Haven't really done any pipe automation ever so don't know the details, but isn't the like, you put a structure pipe, you put some kind of circuit in and it checks the inventory...

    Huh! Look at that. Good to know. Have you tested in a chest? EDIT: Perhaps that means simply that when in a chest/similar, it does not count as under the open sky.

    I think they have to be in your inventory. Cannot swear on it though. Would be cool if they implemented it so that it doesn't heal in a chest, but does heal if lying on a bibliocraft table in the sun.

    ^this^ Why does every frakkin' mod have to have a bazillion new ores? Nearly all xycraft's worldgen could have been consolidated with that of thaumcraft. Just make a recipe like 1 shard + random cheap stuff = 12 or so xycraft shards.
