I always turn off taint spread it's just a pain, turn off infinite water and also on the BC pump maybe disable some other water gen options. Also change Big Reactors to require steel as it's not something you should have access to right away.

Try making your own lava don't pump the nether dry.

You need to use a me export bus, even in 1.6.4 this didn't work.

Mods don't really need to be balanced it's the packs that do. But saying that having a mod that can turn dirt into diamonds....
