Solved Getting random lag spikes on new DW20 1.10 Server

Hello, I have recently launched a Direwolf20 1.10 server using the vanilla FTB server with FTBUtilities removed and Sponge added (several Sponge plugins are added as well). We have only launched yesterday, and so far, most things are working very well -- but, there is one major issue that we...

Cannot login to personal FTB Inventions server

Can others login? If not, then it means that the server isn't actually running (ie. is crashed) and/or a firewall is blocking it (ie. the server box's firewall or your own network's firewall). If they can, then it is probably you're firewall blocking access to the server's specific IP for some...

    Tips for GUI sizing?

I just play on normal. Anything else looks too gigantic imo.

I am trying to get a server started up that may be interesting to you: http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/feedback-wanted-on-server-idea-smp-towns-and-griefprevention.155270

Which is more important for minecraft server? Core or Clock?

That sounds like it is working well, but, I should warn you (sorry, I forgot to mention this in my first psot), that most home ISPs forbid server hosting. You may need to look into colocation.

Feedback wanted on server idea, SMP + towns and GriefPrevention

All right, it seems mostly equavelant to the Direwolf20 pack with a few mods switched out. Personally, I do prefer the mods in Direwolf20, but, being up to date is probably more important for a server. As such, I'll use FTB Infinity as of now (if anyone else has any objections, please voice them...

Which is more important for minecraft server? Core or Clock?

Strictly speaking, the clock speed is much more important as Minecraft will only ever use one core at a time (at least fully, a few background tasks -- especially in Bukkit/Spigot plugins -- do use multiple cores). However, the clock speed isn't a good measure of performance. Instead, try...

Feedback wanted on server idea, SMP + towns and GriefPrevention

Would you recommend the Inifinity pack then? If not then what? For reasons I explained in previous posts to this thread, I'd strongly prefer to avoid any non-FTB or non-premade packs.

Feedback wanted on server idea, SMP + towns and GriefPrevention

It would probably be fairly easy from a technical standpoint to create a program that listens on some specific port of the server that the FTB launcher can connect to. When someone enters an ip, the launcher connects to that port on the specified IP to fetch a URL to a zip file that contains a...

    Any well run communities recruiting?

I'm not sure if you saw the link in my previous post in this thread, but, I am trying to start a new server like that. If I'm successful, you are very welcome to join.

I'll probably start configuring this server on my computer locally soon. Does anyone have any objections to it being based of the Direwolf20 1.7.10 pack?

Feedback wanted on server idea, SMP + towns and GriefPrevention

Based on this and the other complaint, I think I should probably remove the reset. So, if I make this server it won't have a reset unless a real need presents itself (ie. everyone is leaving, map corruption, people want a new pack (this last one isn't to be done willy-nilly, and would mostly...

Feedback wanted on server idea, SMP + towns and GriefPrevention

What would you recommend instead? The most successful server I tried in the past eventually lost every single one of it's players due to stagnation. It was, admittetly, Tekkit Lite which has significantly less content that current FTB packs. What I'm looking for is something reasonably popular...

Thanks for your interest! I assume you are referring to the custom modpack route (please correct me if I'm wrong). This sounds like a great idea and is basically what I had in mind. The only issue I see is that it would probably be easier to get people to join if it uses a more popular modpack...

Looking for a good SMP/Towns server

I'd prefer to generate some interest before startup if possible :) EDIT: This may be relevent to you.

I know I'm a bit late, but I think this thread I made is quite relevant: http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/feedback-wanted-on-server-idea-smp-towns-and-griefprevention.155270/

Feedback wanted on server idea, SMP + towns and GriefPrevention

Well, after trying to find a server that was fun to play on for me, I was very frustrated by the complete lack of any good servers (again, from my definition of "good server") that allow me to just join and play FTB without worrying about crazy rules or game-breaking restrictions that can only...

Looking for a good SMP/Towns server

I would probably just get a 1GB plan from some good shared hosting provider. That still costs money that I don't want to spend if no one will join. There are also other expenses such as a domain name, website hosting, and website software.

Looking for a good SMP/Towns server

I would make it myself, but, servers cost money (if I want to host it properly). If I was making it myself, I would be willing to spend some -- but I would only do so after recruiting players and possibly getting them to contribute some as well. Does this seem plausible? Of course, I would need...
