Part 1:
I'm not sure how to do that in the launcher, but there are modpacks tailored to this sort of thing so you can do this without creating custom packs. Magic World and magic farm are two of them. The way I've swapped between diff verisons of the same pack for different servers is by...
I forgot to also mention the GT distillation tower (though it wouldn't factor into unleashed) offered a huuuge increase to biofuel as well. It had an equivalent refining cost of 640mj per bucket, but gave you 50% conversion instead of 30%.
According to the wiki, you net 42,800mj per bucket of biofuel/3buckets biomass. 50,000mj - 7200mj (still power cost x 3). That includes the power cost of the stills, and is a 28% gain. The gain in boilers is significantly higher, almost double.
Combustion engines are a buldcraft engine that is very efficient with refined fuels. It produces a net gain of about 28% more power when factoring in the stills from the same amount of source material.
Biomass goes into a still and is condensed into biofuel, usually requires about 4 stills per...
Is there any particular reason you aren't using stills and combustion engines? Unless something changed that I'm unaware of, biomass has always been far less efficient that biofuel.
Also curious, are you piling up saplings for the fermenter? You should be given the size of your treefarm. I...
the way to prevent this is to not plant the center sapling. even in 13x13 patterns, it is impossible to complete a 7x7 pattern in any fashion unless you plant the center sapling.
for a 9x9, make 4 4x4 squares then plant the center cross last.
I do believe power loops can cause some problems, its worth getting rid of them anyway. I had problems with a loop around a power converter once.
I should also mention that mob farms really crush my FPS, in a top-end system. I don't understand why.
I just want to mention that fps does not coincide with tick rate. There's nothing you can use for ticks that will tell you fps problems.
Look for UE issues or excessive sounds, those are the two biggest culprits.
Another thought, you say you run your server continuously? I've never been on an FTB server that didn't have scheduled restarts every 12 hours, my guess is due to memory leak issues. Is there a remote possibility that the crashes mentioned are due to running out of ram on a memory leak and...
Your backups...are you deleting old backups? If you want to make mine craft spaz out, run out of drive space. 10 gig storage doesn't mean you should use all 10 gigs.
Based on this and your other information mentioned in replies, I think the offending culprit is the ME Network. Check to make sure its chunkloaded in its entirety, as well as the power+fuel source keeping the controller online. Beware of running cables or power sources along chunk boundaries.
I agree that automation on TC is extremely annoying. Turns out its related to a bug, not the redstone not firing, so it wouldn't fix the problem anyway, as stated by zeal.
The problem with nukes isnt complexity but resource scarcity and renewability. it sounds like theyve increased fuel per uranium block by a factor of 5-10, as well as added a renewable reactor option (powered from radioactive isotope heat like deep space satellites). Sounds good to me!
not sure what vers8on the OP is running, but I was under the impression that it was already nerfed. There is a penalty for limited diversity in the MFR fuel chain and it now longer scales directly with item diversity count.
Just use the sine wave function in rednet. It turns on via the initial redstone on, so you have to send a signal cycle. The sine wave ensures its always being fired repeatedly because it drops to zero. You could use any of the waves really, but I just opted for the sine wave.
