    arboriculture [Forestry]

That is just a bug with forestry. If you manually update it to 2.0.3 it fixes that.

    Lava from sunlight.

Lost potential power. It uses resources and power that could go to something else far more efficient. That is just how I play though. Also lava generated by electrical engines doesn't have much use, the MJs used to make it are far higher then what you would get for just using the electrical...

    Lava from sunlight.

You mean TE, Thermal Expansion, TC would be Thaumcraft. But I agree with you. RP Tubes are much better then BC piping, though there are some places that BC pipes are more efficient I think. But on topic: Electric engines to a crucible I think would be a bad idea. It is a huge waste in IC2...

    arboriculture [Forestry]

You use the soldering iron while looking at nothing. The Soldering iron is a tool that opens up a GUI that should allow you to place the circuit board and tubes in.

    The new apatite...

There is another thread that was discussing this yesterday. People have gotten between ~1/2 stack to 5 stacks of apatite ores in a vein (not the apatite itself). It was also changed to drop between 1-5 apatite a break (more with fortune).

    New Thermal Expansion functionality/item: Tesseracts

A tesseract does not output into RP2 tubes. When I was testing I had to attach a relay next to it for it to take the items. I assume you could place an in-line sorting machine to recolor the items though.

    Diamond Spawn seems really low?

Or a TE pulverizer for a 10% chance at diamond dust. If you don't have an industrial grinder.

    Diamond Spawn seems really low?

Well at first with MindCrack, Thermal Expansion was set to have 1 extra node of 4 diamonds per chunk, but that has been removed from the config. I assume they thought that there were too many diamonds and wanted that removed.

Is the pattern for Obsidian from EE3 intended

On average I can get 8 shards with about 2 minecraft nights worth of dedicated hunting. You can not automate shard gathering in anyway as they require player kills like I mentioned earlier. The 1520 charges is good for ~23 stacks of materials, using it on things you have to cycle through like...

Coping with a lack of anchors

You can substitute the spot loader, which you get 10 from 1 chicken chunk load and steve's cart chunk loader module can also be substituted to make it. Which reminds me, you can use steve's carts for chunk loading also.

It's true that I can't get mob heads normally with Redpower on?

2.5% by default with an increase of 0.5% for each level of looting up to 4%. Not exactly the most wonderful rate in the world.

Coping with a lack of anchors

Could also use a turtle with the chunk loading module.

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

The soldering iron eating your tubes is a glitch that a newer version of forestry already fixed. It also changed the fertilizer use of a tree farm from 40 units of fertilizer to 30 and increased orchards from 5 to 10

    Invar ingots? What?

No the 36 Boiler is a 3x3 firebox with a 3x3x4 (36) section of boiler blocks
  15. I

    Invar ingots? What?

Well assuming you use a max sized (36) high pressure boiler over a low pressure (high pressure can produce twice the power for slightly more fuel consumption) be aware it takes a little over 5 hours of constant running to fully heat up and will use 697 buckets of forestry biofuel in that time...

    Invar ingots? What?

I think they are all moving on to biomass/biofuel at this point. Personally I am going with BC Fuel. A 36HP Boiler needs less then 12 buckets of fuel every hour once fully heated (around 230 buckets to fully heat up), and I have no issue looking for a few extra oil wells now and again. I like...

    New Thermal Expansion functionality/item: Tesseracts

Your sorting system, energy grid, liquid transport system randomly falling apart because you need to go whack some block with a fork seems like a bad design when there are alternatives that require no constant maintenance. The problem with balancing the tesseracts by requiring a person to have...

    Invar ingots? What?

Redstone Energy conduits have 5% loss over any distance. Obviously using piping is more efficient energy wise but if you want to transfer energy/items/liquids long distances or across dimensions then using a tesseract is the way to go.
  19. I

    Invar ingots? What?

A tesseract is a new item from thermal expansion. It is basically like a teleport pipe. There are 3 versions: Item, Liquid, and Energy. You would need 2 of them to be of any use. You set the frequency of them and they will transport whatever they are attuned to around through pipes. Currently...

    Thaumcraft research

You can't get it with 3.0.1. The elemental shovel and other tools, along with the new thaumcraft enchants are added with Thaumcraft 3.0.2 (along with many other new items). Either update to direwolf v5 or download thaumcraft yourself to continue with your research.
