No more diamonds from coal?!?! (Mindcrack 8.2.0)

Yes, but I think you have to either kill them yourself, or use something like a melee turtle to kill them (i.e., kill them in such a way that they drop exp.).

If you need actual coal instead of coal dust (say, for silicon boules in redpower), that's renewable too - you can use soul shards to make a wither skeleton spawner.

Mods decided to make it impossible to make solar power!!!!

This is BS. It always has been. If you still believe it, I present to you the following: The Over-powered Solar-powered Challenge. Create a new single player world in the Ultimate pack. Go ahead and reduce the cost of uu-matter by a factor of 10, but leave everything else on default...

Mods decided to make it impossible to make solar power!!!!

Actually, if you want 32 EU/t on average it's more like 7 uranium. But since uranium is free (just like iridium, apparently!), that doesn't count as part of the cost of an advanced solar panel.

Ah, I see. I'm guessing that the issue may be that it is stuck on trying to make something else. I would suggest that you try two things: 1) connect a crafting monitor to your network; that should allow you to change which crafting job is active. 2) report the issue to the mod creator, with...

Mods decided to make it impossible to make solar power!!!!

I actually don't spam solar... I liked to have a small group of advanced solars as baseline energy, with burst generation (and matter fabrication power) provided by other sources (personally, I liked to go primarily for methane in gas turbines in midgame: about the same net power gain per mB as...

Mods decided to make it impossible to make solar power!!!!

If you assume iridium is free, then it will pay for itself in a little over 1 month (still too long, in my opinion)... but that's a pretty big assumption considering how rare iridium is (in my experience you can't depend on mining to provide large quantities of iridium), and how many other uses...

Looking for a good Auto Maceration and Smelting Line.

That seems over-complicated to me. They should just modify the glacial precipitator to accept milk. ;-) And add a sno-cone mode.

Mods decided to make it impossible to make solar power!!!!

With the default settings in the ultimate pack, if you play 3 hours a day, an advanced solar will pay for 2 uum + 1 iridium in a little over 5 months.

Mods decided to make it impossible to make solar power!!!!

No, the minimal balance consideration is that they produce less power. The old recipe was tough (compared to throwing down a T5 blaze spawner or pumping lava from the nether) as a concession to people who never bothered to do the math saying "oh, that's OP". The new recipe means that, over the...

Mods decided to make it impossible to make solar power!!!!

Solar panels are not OP (at least not basic and advanced). If you look at average output, an advanced solar panel has just under half the power of a basic generator. Considering how easily you can automate the fuel supply for a basic generator (to say nothing of geothermals), the cost of a...

To get the interface to insert items into the machine, you use the Pattern Encoder. You make a pattern with the inputs that you want inserted, and the output that it creates (you can overwrite the output slot in the pattern encoder, so for a glass crafting pattern you would put a sand into the...

What happened to advanced solars cost?

Yeah, nighttime is already figured into those numbers.

What happened to advanced solars cost?

Or you manage to take over the area that's always loaded by default for your power generation, but yeah; about 4 to 20 days under the best possible conditions (if you're - for the sake of argument - playing 3 hours a day of singleplayer on average, you're looking at 1 to 5 months to break even)...

    Getting power from fusion reactor

The supercondensator is limited to 8192/t output, so you would need four to handle the continuous output of a fusion reactor. I believe, however, that you can get rid of the supercondensators entirely; despite what the wiki says, I think the HVTs are limited to 2048/t each but can handle any...

What is the best way to get 21 fusion coils?

The file you need to change is in the ultimate/minecraft/config/GregTech folder by default. While the matter fab is configured to produce less uum than the mass fab by default, if you enable the mass fab it will automatically limit the energy cost for the matter fab to be cheaper than the...

    Applied Energistics

The problem with doing things this way is that AE's external crafting recipes don't wait to have all the materials necessary before sending the materials they do have out. So to keep things from being jammed up by partial recipes you either need 1 packager for each recipe (plus the...

What happened to advanced solars cost?

That's exactly my point: the time required to recoup the initial investment is unreasonable and unrealistic. I expect that by the time I've set up a matter fab, generated my first 2 uum (9 if I can't find the iridium elsewhere and have to use uum for it), and played for an additional 100 hours...

It would be preferable if they provided a way to put in autocrafting commands directly (maybe an autocrafting coprocessor for the molecular assembly chamber?), but there is a workaround for this. Take an ME interface, set up an export bus pointing to it, put the things you want to autocraft in...

What is the best way to get 21 fusion coils?

Wouldn't it be easier to just edit the line "B:Massfabricator=false" to "B:Massfabricator=true" in the GT Recipes.cfg file?
