I solved that a while ago. I noticed over 8 different questions today related to CC and figured this thread might help :) feeling friendly today.

Depending on what you want to detect, you have to put the buildcraft gate on that specific block. For example, if you want to detect soil, you must put it on a hatch block. If your detecting power, put it on a gearbox block. Water lever? Pump block.

I can deffinitly understand what you are saying. But how the fact that that threat floats on the surface so often that people don't mind repeating a question if its just a 5 word answer. I don't know. Just trying to help.

Does humas still turn to bog earth naturally (or is it the bog earth> humas? You know what I mean)? If so you can have another workaround using blockbreakers, turtles, or buildcraft filters.
