Not true. I set my auto spawner to spawn copies of the huge blue spikes with 4 grinders (just to make sure the spawning doesn't get out of hand), And it was producing mob essence faster than I could use it. I stopped playing the world shortly after that, and had 500 buckets of the stuff...
