I see little point in arguing over the tools. RoC machines scale so huge that by the time you can get the bedrock tools, you'll never use them.

There are substantial challenges to overcome to get bedrock. It makes Tinker's gear look easy...

It did. Shouldn't this be a default?

Slow down, a neutron interaction increases the temp by 20-30C. The boiler extracts heat over 100C. Things don't melt until 1500C. That's a huge margin. You would have to be already riding the edge of sensible configurations if a few neutrons piling in bumped you over the threshold.

Jvisualvm shows many threads all the time. However the majority happens in a single thread. Logistics pipes an example that puts it's network processing in a separate thread. @Reika: Reactorcraft v6e, can't get central control to raise control rods with 16 MW of power. They dance up a down a...

@Reika: is it possible to put Electricraft network recursion into a separate thread? I'm investigating some lag spike issues where our server stops responding for up to 90 seconds while jvisualvm says the server thread is in electricraft.

R My point was that it takes time for the heat to dissipate into the adjacent blocks, which must their either dissipate the heat or be cooled (ie: make steam). If you create heat too fast, and then you have a lag bump, it may overwhelm the unit.

That's because the heat creation is FAST, while the diffusion of heat between blocks is slower and based on the difference in temperature.

I could see the chunkloader issue (neutron pileup) also coming into play during high lag spikes. It may be you need to run a cooler reactor (less cores).

It does gradually go up and down. The issue is tolerance vs acceleration. The tolerances are relatively fine compared to the potential heat output, which is why some reactors are "hotter".

Totally unrelated, but can Ender IO conduits carry RoC steam?! Or is that molten sodium?

Technically the boiler gets that hot, it doesn't mean the steam has to be. I agree with Reika's conservative estimate.

Ok, so Reika says it is a block update issue. His reservoirs don't force an update to keep the lag down, so vanilla redstone doesn't always update immediately. Buildcraft gates DO WORK against the reservoirs, and I can use them for wiring the signals too with structural pipe and pipe wire, so...

That's actually a great idea. Maybe just a WAILA tooltip or feedback from transducer that says required torque vs supplied torque. That's trivial.

How about simply placing a red X in the GUI corresponding to where the lack of torque occurs (or begins)?

512 is the max per block, you have 35 to break through. You may be getting jammed frequently. I run mine with at least 4k torque and that seems to break through most things.

To be fair I worked on that for two days of restarts, and reinstalled... I asked only after I got frustrated. Now if only I could stop replacing turbine blades because a monster spawns in a SEALED room that's all half slabs and well lit, I'd be great! I can't wait to make a fission reactor and...

Right. Switching to default didn't fix it. Switching to default, shutting down MC, restarting in default, and adding back Soartex fixed it.
