    Hardmode Modpack?

Magic Farm is also there, about midway between the mass packs and BnB in difficulty. In both of their cases, only the 1.6 versions are out at the moment, the 1.7 versions are supposed to be coming soon. An alpha (or is it beta?) version of MF is on the new launcher, it's currently feeling...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

There's also applesauce (I forget the recipe); meaning that you can survive on just apples by eating 6 of each in a cycle, handy if you have a good sized automated tree farm.

Crash Landing, help, venting and discussion!

Not that vacuum hoppers are particularly difficult to acquire here. As the needlegun you get for free doesn't cause endermen to teleport when you shoot them, they're trivial to take out sometime after midnight, then head out to grab their pearl after the sun comes up. Obsidian can be made in a...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Make some fire resistance potions before going after the reactors. Enjoy a nice refreshing purifying bath in the pyrotheum as you bucket it into portable tanks, after having laughed at the blazes trying to tickle you to death.

Crash Landing, help, venting and discussion!

What I did was to have NEI filter on the various meal levels and checked their recipes, picking out which ones looked to have reasonable ingredients. Takes a while, but at least gives you some feel for what is out there. Here's the table I made for myself of low level foods, the ingredients...

    Blood n Bones, random explosions?

They're either red gas in a cavern encountering lava and exploding, or creepers finding something to grief.

    Blood N Bones [Hardcore Survival]

I must have been lucky... No BoP, had a village close to spawn (but far enough away to not get eaten at night eventually). It was in the same place in the spirit world. 1.1.2. Though after having made a black steel pick and starting to level it up, at the current rate it looks like it's going...

    Blood and Bones keep crashing

One thing to check that caused strange crashes at start in that modpack at first: I had both Java 6 and 7 installed, and it continued to use 6 despite me trying to force it to use 7 before. Uninstalling them both and reinstalling the latest Java fixed it.

Trivial. It's a machine called (something) replicator I think, it takes protein (made by another gendustry machine that consumes meat) and DNA (yet another machine that can break down either drones or forestry saplings) and a whole bunch of RF, then creates an ignoble princess. To tell it what...

    Blood N Bones [Hardcore Survival]

Diamonds seem to be only at 7-9, based on messing around with a bound pickaxe in a creative test world. Most other minerals stop at 21.

BnB Deaths of a Noob (Being alive? BLASPHEMY, THE MIGHTY EYAMAZ HAS SPOKEN)

AS isn't particularly difficult when you know how to do things, it's just that before your early automation things are a bit grindy, and the later quests require you to create large amounts of items. BnB is more along the lines of doing its very best to kill you, and continue to keep killing...

Actually I've seen do that with some but not others. Lettuce acts like that, but tomatoes it just picks them. No idea why it does that.

    bloodnbones

Being able to make torches using only rubber was only possible in older versions, and you can only make charcoal from sawdust that you get from sawmills. Given that you need at least 10 diamonds and some nether ores before any machines are possible, don't worry about trying to make charcoal...

    Blood N Bones [Hardcore Survival]

A good way of dealing with gasses is to simply dig holes in the floor or ceiling, depending on the density of the gas. It just sinks or floats into the hole you made, then if you replace the blocks it destroys the gas just like when placing a block in water or lava.

Whats Your Agrarian Skies go-to food?

Start with carrot juice, proceed to toast once I get automated crop farming going, then finally the cheeseburger+fries+smoothie feasts. The first one can feed you off of just a few planted carrots, the second is something you're doing anyways for a quest, and the final one because only needing...

Minetweaker How Can I Make It Not Consumed?

Blood n Bones has it set up like this, not sure if it's pure minetweaker or if there's an extra mod that it's using. I do know that it uses minetweaker to make the standard recipe only give 2 planks.

    Just tried out BnB...

I had started to write up some stuff on BnB, then I decided I was making too big of a fail (and wimping out and dropping to peaceful far too often) to be giving out advice like I knew it all. Still, I'm at least confident in my task list for getting past the first night: - You may need to...

Normal does a normal distribution over the range; you'll see more ores in the middle of it and less at the top and bottom. Uniform is evenly distributed across all heights.

Or just use a MFR autospawner to spawn villagers atop an empty smelter, with an extra utilities trade station (not sure if that's the exact name, search for "trade" in NEI) to easily look at each of them. When you've gone through all the ones that spawned, toss an ingot into the smelter and...

Nether Skies Raiders tips and tricks

Fire resistance potions. Not having to worry about falling in lava is a huge weight off your mind, and by the time you have the above you likely have everything you need to make them. Also, don't forget the main vanilla use of ender pearls: Throwing them to teleport to where they land. A...
