    FTB Launcher News

Have to agree with this. I've been a fan of the FTB launcher since I ran across Infinity Evolved, and I'll keep on using it until it's totally outdated. As far as signing up for free online content, I don't think my son ever signed up with anything except his Minecraft ID to use the Void...

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

The Ender-Thermic Pump from Extra Utilities includes it's own chunk loader! Pretty neat all-in-one solution for pumping lava, we're busy turning massive lakes of lava into parking lots - the pump replaces each lava block extracted with a stone block. I also discovered that Railcraft Steel...

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

Turns out that using slime water (harvested from floating slime islands) keeps Nether ore explosions dampened to a level where they don't destroy mining turtles. I set the turtles to work in the Nether, excavating 8x8 or so, and flow slime water down to keep the turtles hydrated. I can look...

[1.7.10] Evolution of the Harvest [HQM Pack][CTM][CustomNPCs]

I do think it's a great mod pack concept, and you've obviously put a lot of time and effort into developing the concept. Perhaps sometime later it'll give you motivation to complete it as a 1.10 version, and if so, I'd be happy to help play-test it!

    [1.7.10]Wired In Modpack

It's probably something I brought on myself, either putting princess clams (Apple&Tea&Milk) into a JABBA barrel, or perhaps my son cheating in a stack of shiny ingots. I'll see if I can figure out how to load an older saved version (not sure this is an option), or we'll just launch a...

Those little things that irk you about Minecraft

Several mod packs take this approach, and I do like the simplistic approach. Pam's Harvestcraft has squeezers, kitchen sinks, and assorted pots and pans; none take power. Admittedly, the oven takes cooking oil, a byproduct of the squeezer, but that's about it. Apple&Tea&Milk has a mix of...

    [1.7.10]Wired In Modpack

Been playing regularly for a couple of weeks, but today I've crashed to a blank screen, and now the mod pack won't load; crashes when I attempt to load my saved game. http://paste.feed-the-beast.com/view/c825556c

    Apple&Tea&Milk drink mixing

I've made a few different liquors using the Apple&Tea&Milk mod pack in Wired In, and although I have nice decorative bottles on my tables and shelves, I can't seem to get drink out of them. If I click on them with a teacup, like I can with a beer or sake bottle, the cup disappears and that's...

    [1.7.10]Wired In Modpack

Thanks! I ended up using Culinary Generators to power the Food Processor (it seemed appropriate), and a bank of Stirling Generators for general use. I may experiment with the Heated Redstone Generators, those sound pretty neat, but at the moment I'm still chasing down resources. Some things...

    [1.7.10]Wired In Modpack

Just out of curiousity, what are people using for early power generation? I was thinking of building some waterwheels/windmills - never having done these before, but after I built a coke oven for creosote I find out NEI has no recipe for waterwheel. Hrmph. On the bright side, I did figure...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Just wanted to post an update on my Ender Pearl progress. I've used a combination of the suggestions listed above; adding Cursed Earth to my passive mob grinder (20x20 dark room plus 23 block drop chute) and also adding a 2-high space in my main base to shelter under when Endermen show up...

[1.7.10] Evolution of the Harvest [HQM Pack][CTM][CustomNPCs]

A food-based mod pack, and Apple&Milk&Tea is not included? Sacrilege! :-)

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Thanks for all the Ender Pearl suggestions! I have started down the bees path, but I'd forgotten there was a branch that could eventually produce Ender Pearls. Time to start breeding bees! I haven't seen any dungeons yet, but eventually I'm sure I'll mine into one. So far I've got branch...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

I've never actually found/made (?) a portal to the End, nor have I seen any ender-lilies in this world. So far, anyway, as I noted above it's still early days. Just kind of hitting the wall on some upgrade paths, which is why I posed the question.

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Reading about mob farms reminds me; are there any tips for getting more Ender Pearls in the early/mid game? I have a herd of turtles strip-mining for just about every ore I need, a mob farm dropping tons of gunpowder and blaze powder, and even a squid tank generating chests of ink sacs. I've...

    Input on Mod ideas

I'm casting a vote for a classic steampunk mod. If I was absolutely blank-sheet-of-paper conceptualizing, I'd love to see an Asian-inspired mod that would support massive steam-powered golems in samurai armor for mining, farming, guarding, transportation, etc. Like mechs or automata set in...

    [1.7.10]Wired In Modpack

I ran across another mod that I think has nice synergy with Wired In, it's called MalisisDoors. http://www.minecraft19.com/2015/01/27/malisisdoors-mod-1-7-101-8-1/ Looking up tutorial videos for Apple&Milk&Tea, I ran across CM's nice series introducing various mod features and recipes. The...
