Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

I haven't built an AE system, so I'm looking into more "low-tech" options to do some cleanup tasks. I run a tree farm for logs, pass those through a sawmill for planks, and from there to a bank of furnace generators. Not very fast or efficient, but it runs and doesn't need much maintenance...

"If a recipe calls for a container of liquid, it may also be piped directly into the internal tank instead of supplying the containers." Nice! Thanks, I'll build one of this and give it a try!

For a crafting recipe that requires a bucket of water, like paper from sawdust, can this be automated using the RFTools Crafter or the Auto Workbench? Conceptually I'm not sure how to set this up, without an attached inventory full of filled water buckets.

    Uses for Bedrockium?

I'm going to have to try that one! I've already got the unstable ingots sitting around, haven't made anything with them except a hoe, and that was nerfed anyway (doesn't change cobblestone to smooth stone any longer). Thanks!

    The Deep Ocean Modpack Idea

I do like the idea, and I've built underwater bases before, I find the challenge interesting. My one issue is the light aspect; no matter how lovely and translucent the water looks from above, when I get below the waterline, it gets dark quickly. If I light up the ocean floor in all directions...

That's quite possibly the case on the DireWolf20 server. The only other time I've even seen Enderminys was on our home server, and there I don't think they spawned in the mob grinder, I only saw them outside the base and never collected any Ender shards. They're kinda cute, and I was trying to...

Gettin used to FTB IE but am still a scrub at massive modpacks

Goodness gracious! That is indeed a lot of storage! I would definitely second the recommendation to use Storage Drawers. Early game I do make a few JABBA barrels, but even with the input/output/capacity upgrades I get tired of futzing with them. As soon as I have a steady wood/iron...

Is there a specific issue with the Enerminys/creepers that you're trying to mitigate? I have a mob grinder in my base, uses a lot of cursed earth plus random spawners collected from Twilight Forest. Just a simple 26-block drop chute to hoppers and some transport ducts, I haven't bothered to...

    Large signs?

The RFTools Screen module is resizeable, up to 3x3. However, you can place screens next to each other to make larger displays. You may have to look into chunk loading if you're trying to keep a block running while you're offline - I'm not sure what you're aiming for design-wise. For the...

    Uses for Bedrockium?

Just a question for the community; what do you usually make with compressed cobble? I set up a RFTools crafter to handle surplus cobblestone from a quarry, and added a couple of extraction nodes making cobble just to see how they work. So now I have about a stack of sextuple compressed...

Share your progress on Infinity Evolved Expert Mode

I've been playing various forms of modded Minecraft for a couple of years, and I haven't had the urge to try Expert Mode on any of them. Plain survival mode is tough enough for me, and even with that there are some real challenges. Props to anyone playing in expert mode, and good luck!

    Large signs?

The RFTools mod has some nifty signs; multiple sizes, customizeable, and even interactive if you like to embed buttons. I only know this because I was watching a DireWolf20 RFTools spotlight, but might be worth checking out.

    Necromancy

Summer vacations are over, school's back in, and server traffic is up. (Okay, the last one is a guess based on my household.)

For RFTools, is the in-game guide available for out-of-game reading? I've looked at Github, and although I can see the code and packages, the only read.me file is just a title bar. Is there a wiki or similar that will let me read up on dimension creation while I'm not gaming? Edit: Ignore the...

I've tried adding Glowstone Dust to Carpenter's Blocks, but maybe I'm doing it in the wrong order, the block doesn't seem to take the dust. I have used the Chisel mod on Glowstone Blocks to make some nice lanterns and light fixtures, and I'm going to try making a few decorative desk lamps from...

I'll give that a try, thanks! By the way, your designs are a major source of inspiration for me, as I didn't even realize Carpenter's Blocks could be overlaid with glass until I'd seen you using them that way.

Wanted to ask what people were using for some sort of mirrored glass in IE/DireWolf20? Trying some different base ideas, and was modeling a local office building for inspiration - of course the building uses reflective glass extensively on the exterior. Any tips? Chisel mod is a lifesaver...

Nice! Ironically, my son and I spent time this weekend flowcharting the breeding combinations required for the Pyro bee, result looks very similar to this mod! :) I'll have to add this to our local machines, we're still digging ores for more bronze, the Gendustry mod is a total resource sink.

I'll give that a try when I get home, thanks! I'm still building all the Gendustry machines, which are taking a crap-ton of bronze and diamonds, but should be a little easier than setting up apiaries in every biome I can find.

I've been playing on a DireWolf20 server recently, and when I was looking up recipes in NEI, I noticed that one source for blaze powder (or maybe glowstone dust?) was the Pyro Bee. I know there are Magic Bees and Extra Bees (and Gendustry) in the mod pack, but I can't find any information...
