i didn't even know voxel caused such a fps decrease until I saw this thread and installing rei's instead my oh my being able to use optifine multi core chunk loading and not having voxel slow shit to a turtles pace it's nice my i5 3570k is choking on FTB. it's not just voxels fault, minecraft is...

in my experience, while i agree voxel is a piece of laggy shit, it IS to scale in the nether and can be useful (especially in anarchy servers for getting to far bases quicker) but it still lags my game to crap and i can use calculator to divide by 8 instead
