I certainly think so! Between yourself and @Pyure you're definitely helping John McLane is his fight with Hans Gruber, unlike a certain someone else here, who's hijacking this whole thread to make (unfamiliar) pop-culture references non-stop. ;) I had one of those revelation/clarity moments...

@Pyure Out of curiousity, for the same modpack, how does 1.7.2 performance compare with 1.7.10 on your machine? FPS/TPS/etc/etc/

Tonius (the boy that wrote RF jetpacks) has ported NEI plugins to 1.7.x Those that wish to try it out may do so at their respective ends. I am not sure what the mod pack policy is. @Jason McRay, that's for you to tell us :)

^^ Lately, I get this problem all the time. 20 minutes of gaming, followed by the discovery of 96% RAM usage (seriously? I told you that Xmx is 3G, minecraft!) forcing me to close minecraft client, leading to my losing flow, leading to simply abandoning gaming for the night.

All this is fine in an ideal world. But all those wonderful improvements notwithstanding, 1.7.x as well as 1.8 is pretty much unplayable on my present machine. And that doesn't make my machine a toaster, btw.

Given that even 1.6.4 is a wheezing geezer on some of our machines, I would really really love to see the fastcraft mod ported to 1.6.4 is possible, to test if that helps gameplay on struggling machines. @SpwnX and Co., is there even a remote likelihood of player considering this option?
