oh sure, I'm not trying to dispute that, though if the objective is to have well lit rooms (by which I mean high light levels), instead of just rooms were mobs won't spawn, then no there is not really any light sources that would do it. If you just want to have some light then there are plenty...

I think the only thing missing here, to explain ice melting, is that in minecraft the light isn't melting the ice. Rather the ice checks its light level and if it is high enough it melts. That is why you can't find a light source that won't melt the ice.

That is a damn cool looking spot, having a bridge to the mountains would be awesome, like a slightly arched bridge. I'd also stick so jungle trees and vines around the mountain and you're platform. Maybe a waterfall on the side of the mountain.

Find this folder FTB\ultimate\minecraft\config\GregTech open the file "Recipes.cfg" in notepad and change the line "B:ExpensiveBCQuarryRecipe=true" to "B:ExpensiveBCQuarryRecipe=false"

put some wood in each of the fuel slots then it shouldn't replace then it should keep all of the slots filled with wood (so long as you are only extracting storage at the cargo manager and not all slots)

the file you are looking for is thermalexpansion.cfg and the line you are looking for looks, by default, like this "I:transport.teleport.energy.loss=25" I found the thermalexpansion.cfg in my "config/cofh" folder

i think there needs to be a block that just pumps out a steam particle effect when powered with steam, just so you can add a cool (hot?) steam-powered industrial aesthetic to your builds.

Yeah breeding forestry trees gives an awesome supply but it can take a while to get mutations you want.
