good point, ferrous metals generally melt at around 2800 degrees FARENHEIT.. Celsius is something like 1500 degrees. even weapons-grade thermonuclear devices seldom break 2 grand celsius... 4000 degrees would cause an amazingly spectacular burn off instantly ending your minecraft world :) maybe...

    [MC 1.7.10] New World Mod-Pack [v0.0.7]

Newest MB doesn't play nice with NEI as far as displaying them. This may be intentional (they took up many many pages) You still make them the same way, though... everything works, it just doesn't tend to display ten thousand possible microblocks in NEI. I think there may be an addon that...

The Final Word on Steam Boiler Efficiency

Good point. If fussing with boilers isn't fun, it is ultimately inefficient. All resources are, in essence, limitless.... except your time.

better dungeons, wildcaves, ars magica, minecraft comes alive. heck, even metallurgy rewards exploration.

MineFantasy - A quick but comprehensive tutorial.

I love slow mods as long as the final rewards are worth the expense. if you have a hefty tech tree with tons of prerequisites, the end result should be something that makes it all worth it. Thaumcraft sorta had this dynamic for a while (although it has since gotten too complex) and ars magica...

    portals?

not literally, but the mystcraft language has become... confusing. order matters, many words have unintuitive placement, and virtually every world you create has nasty instability. I know people love having higher complexity, but to me, complexity ios something that the player should create, not...

ars magica already does something similar. I hope FTB can get permissions to use it soon (if they don't already have it)

The Final Word on Steam Boiler Efficiency

good point. for placeables and emergency power supplies, bioengines are second to none, with all the faces available for connecting, you can build a highly compact portable setup. but for long term needs, it seems worthwhile to set up at least a medium sized boiler. density wise, however...

The Final Word on Steam Boiler Efficiency

How does this compare to the fuel efficiency of MFR biocombustion engines?

    portals?

yeah, dimension doors. oops. Mystcraft has lost all appeal now that it has been given the gregtech treatment. Guess you have to make mods stupid hard to keep them relevant. all this because of a hopper?

    portals?

or use the portals mod. very fun mod. two iron doors and an ender pearl, plus a rift maker to connect them.

What mods could be used to replace redpower 2 (not talking about its place in FTB)

MineFantasy - A quick but comprehensive tutorial.

I tend to experiment with mods in a controlled environment. that means if it's something new, I like to try it out without a whole bunch of other mods confusing the issue. when i add more mods, I like to try them out and make sure that they don't destroy the usefulness of the other mods. I find...

My idea- monsterCRAFT! similar to the way IC2 cropnalyzed seeds worked. Essentially you can create devices to capture and/or genetically modify monsters, animals, (maybe even splice in plant DNA?). The models would have a set number 'models' and a set number of 'textures' for various parts...

IC2 steps up thier game with the Ejector Upgrade

New Mods I'd like to see: for IC2: More gardening stuff! You are letting forestry get away with genetic plant engineering when that should have been YOUR pigeonhole, you started it first. genetically engineered trees that can drop more wood, grow faster, double (or more!)charcoal production...

What mods could be used to replace redpower 2 (not talking about its place in FTB)

Ahh, interesting. The spout doesn't pour stuff into the world, though, it just acts sort of like a very very short pipe that you can attach to any liquid inventory with pressure, that will pour into any other liquid inventory when clicked or given a redstone pulse. You could see how that could...

MineFantasy - A quick but comprehensive tutorial.

You know, one day I am going to convince one of these damned mod makers that good steel needs CHARCOAL, not coal. Coal will strip all the useful elements out of iron, and add hardly any good carbon. actual charcoal works way, way better.... but try telling modders that. It interferes with their...

BTW- what would you need to pour liquids out into the world for? Out of curiosity... I cannot even imagine a situation where automagically placing liquids in-world would be useful, with the sole exceptions of griefing and cheating around the nether's water prohibition. BTW, tinker's...
