I wouldn't recommend making an add-on if you're completely new to modding. Should try and make sure you know how to get a mod working at all before you start trying to tinker with other people's mods.

There's a slight chance that standing flux goo will create fibrous taint and turn the local biome into Tainted Land, so try not to leave the stuff sitting around. It's a very small chance and, if I recall correctly, requires the lowest level puddle.

I once set up an MFR spawner to spawn Minoshrooms and placed a Mystcraft portal to someone's house below the spawner. That forest was never the same. If we're talking about modded Minecraft in general...

If it was in DW's Forgecraft series, it's probably because the Forgecraft server uses test version of the mods that aren't available to the public yet.

Molten Gold is added by Tinker's Construct, among other more obscure mods. You melt gold down in a smeltery and then fill buckets with it to place in the world. You may need to pipe the gold out into a separate tank to use a bucket, though. Never tried it before.

Yeah. I really love the look of exposed wiring and pipes. I try to have as many protruding and obvious pipes as possible to make it feel like the entire building is one giant machine you're walking around inside. But obviously not in the "treetop village" I'm currently building. :P Doubly so...
