    Thermionic Fabricator Gears Bug?

Gear casts is (or was) apparently something added by ExtraBees. http://ftbwiki.org/Gear_Cast

Reevaluate Millenaire as a stock mod

I put the Millenaire mod in the same category as Twilight Forest. Playing them with the tools and equipment given to us with the other FTB mods, is a little bit like bringing a bazooka to your local indoor shooting range. :)

    Multi-farm Orchard Not Harvesting

Tried removing all pipes on the hatch? Just to see if the resources gathers in the machine? The only thing I can think of is that there is a item id conflict of some kind. Are you on a server? Maybe the server and your client have different configs.

    Bee Breeding Problems DW20 1.5.2

I've now done some basic tests. I had 9 pure cultivated princesses and I mated them all with pure Noble drones. The results so far tells me I was right, but the sample might be too small. All the princesses had 4 in fertility and all offspring became either Cultivated or Majestic. None of them...

    Bee Breeding Problems DW20 1.5.2

I wasn't talking about mutations. I was talking about active and inactive traits. Noble is recessive and Cultivated is dominate. Right? So getting a Noble-Cultivated hybrid with Noble as the active gene shouldn't be possible. Right? The only documentation I've found about species heredity was...

    Bee Breeding Problems DW20 1.5.2

That was my thought as well. I'm just not sure how it works with recessive and dominate species. I don't think anyone has ever seen a Noble-Cultivated, but I'm not sure so I asked.

    Bee Breeding Problems DW20 1.5.2

You start by quoting me, but don't really reply to my message at all. In any shape or form. I personally know how to get new species and to purify them properly. My question was if it's possible to get a Noble and Cultivated hybrid with Noble as the active gene. I don't think it is.

    Bee Breeding Problems DW20 1.5.2

It should be impossible to get Cultivated by breeding a Noble with a Noble. Unless something has changed; Noble is a recessive gene. If you have a noble bee it must either be pure or mixed with another recessive species. Cultivated is dominate so a Noble and Cultivated hybrid will always be...

Opinion: Why I think some mod authors should think twice about their new content

It wasn't very clear in my post, but I've said before that the packs can be adapted to the player by the player. Instead of complaining about individual mods they should take a look at the pack and redesign it to their needs. Mods give players the power of game design. This is why we players...

Opinion: Why I think some mod authors should think twice about their new content

There are many players and mod authors that agree with fredrikam because there are some truth to what he say. Mods with unique elements that are fun and interesting are better than mods that simply reinvent existing features in new ways. There are many mods out there that are created by players...

    EE2

It's not a bad thing to take ideas from the real world and mold the rules to create game play elements. Realism is not a curse word in game design, neither is doing the exact opposite. The discussion about realism is stupid. The only interesting thing is how it feels like when playing the end...

Creosote vs Seed Oil for bees

I just realized that the ability to use Creosote to make impregnated items is something added by "Plugins for Forestry" and not RailCraft. I thought it was strange for CovertJaguar to add something like that.

Creosote vs Seed Oil for bees

This thread was about how to obtain Seed Oil compared to Creosote and the underlying question was asking if using Creosote was "too easy". That was how I read it anyway. And that is what I answered. In relation to your question I can say that I don't have ExtraBees installed. This means no...

Creosote vs Seed Oil for bees

It isn't really that much harder to obtain large quantities of Seed Oil. It all depends on how you prioritize your builds and activities in your world. Anyone that have large quantities of Creosote probably have a larger set of Coke Ovens or have been playing on the same world for a longer time...

I don't think "mushroom taco" was thinking about the realism when talking about lava as a heat source as imbalanced, but I could be wrong. I don't find realism to be too interesting in itself, but I wouldn't mind some changes to how we handle or use lava. Removing the use of buckets, pumps...

Unbalanced compared to what? Making water hot doesn't create any problems in itself. The question is how much steam it produces compared to other source of heat. I'm playing with a mod pack without any form of dimensional transportation or teleportation of resources. Getting Lava is actually...

    Multifarm orchard, help!

Use some bonemeal on the leaves (at least 10-16) to ripen the fruit. Wait a few minutes and the fruit should be harvested.

    1.6.2 World Leak

I've seen similar messages in vanilla single player after jumping between single player worlds. I was using MultiMC and the messages appeared in the console log. This wasn't 1.6.2 though. I haven't really studied the logs lately, so it might still happen from time to time.

Hydra doesn't speak for all of us. Luckily. I personally wish there where more fuel types that created waste that we had to handle. Be it ash from coal or peat, obsidian from lava or radioactive waste from reactors. As long as we have some way of automating the processing of these materials...

Tree Breeding - Is it supposed to be THIS slow?

I don't know if this is an actual bug any longer, or when it was fixed, but I heard it was possible for the Apiary to get stuck with genetic information that it was unable to use. Breaking the Apiary would clear the information to let the Apiary start over.
