They wont sue because it's irrelevant and petty. Irrelevant, because you're not making money out of this or claiming intellectual rights. Petty, because it's a small matter, an obvious reference clearly meant to complement the original and not to take any credit.

Intellectual property is a difficult thing. There's no concrete formula for it, only that it's obvious when it's really bad or completely irrelevant. Code is nearly always criminal to copy (though, of course, some things are just mathematically identical). textures and art are sometimes okay if...

A "feel" of a mod is a very important part of the experience. Sometimes just the switching of what mods you use has an effect, especially with how different mods are together.

Mod suggestion (or just a piece of one): Nugget ore spawn. Essentially, an additional type of low-yield ore for generation of "rich" earth formation- gold-bearing river bed, exposed copper veins, caves with walls full of iron deposits, very rare titanic biome-wide rich mines with a spawn of...

The main "OP" aspect that witchery has over other mods is the ability to tag-lock and harass you. As the author himself stated, he's going to change that. Besides that, most of the power in witchery is no more overpowered than other magic mods- They all add some kind of magic that give titanic...

    The Thaumcraft 4.1 Experience

Only it's not the same as aura vis, isn't a liquid, and doesn't make sense as energy.

    The Thaumcraft 4.1 Experience

Essentia is vis, it's mentioned as so in the thaumonomicon. I've decided, and recommend, to willingly suspend disbelief rather than attempt to sort out what's what.

Wasn't it sufficiently analyzed magic that's indistinguishable?

    Mods definitions and usefulness

In a sense, it's like the difference between Science fiction and fantasy: the latter is the inclusive group. You can call any power or machine magical, but no spell or ritual industrial. You can't really remake Ars magica into a tech mod, while you can remake industrial craft into magical dwarf...

    1. In a great sense, TC is a scientific mod- you research the properties of the world and make tools and machine using that knowledge. other magic mods are more focused on spells and power levels, so it's not just flavor. 2. I think there's another major definition in power systems: power...

    Mod Pros-Cons Debate Thread

I did not say quantum suit is a better option, nor did i say anything about gaining ultimate power easily, I said gaining ultimate power at all. Not to mention, regular quantum suit is a lot less powerful than KAMI (i'm pretty sure some twilight forest enemies can punch right through it thank...

    Mod Pros-Cons Debate Thread

Topics on mods are not in short supply- "realistic" versus "fun", blocks versus models, tech style versus magic style, power versus utility, building and developing versus exploring, powering blocks versus powering the player... Here's a good one: Could you consider thaumcraft to be the most...

There's a reason it's mentioned in the main screen splash text as more addictive than minecraft. Yeah. Also, now that Modjam voting is over, we can safely cry about what mods we should have supported/made/destroyed and how great/worse this modjam had being.

    Mod Pros-Cons Debate Thread

I haven't used IC2 in a while, but i personally like the feel of it the most out of the tech mods- visually very clean, industrial, without the garish textures of other mods, very clear and fundamental functionality for most machines, cool gadgets that make progressing rewarding, and a fair tech...

    [0.5.1] Technomancy Discussion-Ore processing like a boss

I said it as an added possibility: If you already have a large thaumcraft development, or any specific magic mod development, but very little in other fields, you could, but wont have to, use native clusters, or any other step-one-ore-doubling as a start on the process (idk much about some of...

You can get native clusters with some alchemy, i think.

    [0.5.1] Technomancy Discussion-Ore processing like a boss

What about the existing materials of ore purification? Would it at least be viable to start the process with some of them (i.e. only for the first step), such as using thaumcraft's native ore clusters->AM2+BM processing?

New RF Mod (In Progress Looking for Suggestions)

The extra conduit should be at least thicker than regular conduits (6/8 of a block)).

New RF Mod (In Progress Looking for Suggestions)

Ore doubling mechanics are a basic tech mod requirement for a very simple reason- each not-tiny tech mod, by existing, greatly increase the demand for metal. "unoriginal" is a completely irrelevant argument.
