What I sure don't get is why people feel they need to disable anything they won't use. I mean, it's not like XU is invasive in any way. In fact, the only "worldgen" it adds is Division Sigils.
Actually, power systems rarely hurt my FPS at all, even in massive setups. Botania does hurts my FPS, but it's cool enough to make up for it.
The worst lag I get is usually on servers. In particular, crazy Blood Magic and Railcraft (carts) setups are painful.
It is, admittingly, pretty silly that by now 1.7 NEI doesn't even have all the features 1.6 NEI did.
It can be kinda buggy and go away when you don't want it to.
I don't think there's anything wrong with using bosses from mods by themselves. You may want to use those mods anyway though, as they are pretty neat.
Be careful with BM bossess though, as they are VERY strong. Be prepared for stuff balanced around 100% protection armor.
IMO, stable 1.7.10 packs will be possible within 2-3 weeks, maybe less. Meanwhile, it will be quite some time before we even get MCP, let alone Forge for 1.8.
Then no mod does. Witchery easily adds some of the most content of any mod over a week/month/etc.
I think it'd probably be good to take a break anyway right about now. Hey, take pride in the fact that you were one of the first to have a fully fleshed-out and stable 1.7 mod and probably made...
After testing Flux Armor, I have found it to be....quite good. It gives 100% damage protection against explosions and attacks, but not fall damage, wither, fire, etc.
Of course, it's expensive as all hell, with each piece costing 10+ diamonds.
Because there's no good official changelog for TE4 and RSA posted yet, I'll make my own!
Thermal Expansion 4
Added upgradable machines. All machines now have 3-6 upgrade slots, based on their tier (machines can be upgraded to increase tier or crafted with a higher-tier frame to begin with)...
I got TE4 to run with my in-dev modpack. To be fair, my modpack atm only has NEI, TE4, Botania and Railcraft, all in their latest versions.
By the way, it's awesome.
This immediately prompted me to make my SSP modpack lol. It was all I was waiting for.
Knowing TE, it will be great. Just an FYI, though: early-game functionality has been nerfed a bit in that configurable sides and redstone control are now upgrades. Probably pretty cheap though.
