Thermal Expansion 3.0!!! No More Beta! Thanks KL!

That's a cool idea, thank you. For some reason I still see them as batteries for remote powering and not as a device for daily use in my network.

Thermal Expansion 3.0!!! No More Beta! Thanks KL!

Is there a way to swich energy conduits on and off by redstone signal? I have a buch of lasers powered with RF and they are real power-hogs so I usually cut the redstone conduit with a multipart panel. Would be nice if there was a way to turn my lasers on without the use of a pickaxe. Same goes...

Logistic Crafting System with Furnaces and Co?

Yep. This nice little gadget simply exports the mats to the adjacent inventory and waits for the product to appear and pulls it out. This way it works with all machines which have an inventory. I have not met any machine that did not work, yet. There is even a fluid satellite pipe to provide...

Logistic Crafting System with Furnaces and Co?

Just hook a crafting pipe to the machine and tell it the recipe (You'll have to put in the raw materials and the product yourself; the crafting pipe can only import from the autocrafting table). Perhaps you'll have to use a satellite pipe to insert into the right slot (e.g. to add coal to the...

Thermal Expansion 3.0!!! No More Beta! Thanks KL!

Yes, I'm aware of all that. I just thought there were some other restrictions like 'one action per tick' built into the machines from buildcraft (or RF conduits). I just was amazed that this isn't the case. E.g. the rolling machine is intended to either use a bit of energy continuously (if you...

Thermal Expansion 3.0!!! No More Beta! Thanks KL!

I noticed something weird yesterday. RF seems to run MJ-machines much faster than MJ itself (e.g. filling the internal power buffer of the rolling machines takes just blinks, even if you only have one or two dynamos with filled buffers). I had a filler set to frame mode fill a 5x5x60 area with...

    AE Autocrafting

No, that wouldn't work, because the surplus production is variable. If e.g. the production of one piece would take the same time as exporting 16 pieces to the machine, you had a surplus of 16 if you took one out, not 64. Second the production of new material will start 64 pieces later (e.g. you...

Does thermal expansion provide any sorting?

Quarries an ducts are incompatible. Querries have no ISideInventory. To prevent the popping out just put a chest on the quarry and hook the duct to the chest.

Whats the drawback for being a bat with morph?!

I don't think so. People tend to be Steve most of the time (At least I do - the bat is so small and I hate that slipping part of the flight-movement) and switching into bat form just to change floor is too time consuming. Being able to fly as Steve is still desireable methinks.

    AE Autocrafting

You sipmply can't with AE. You can only have x+y stocked, where y is variable between 0 and the inventory size of the furnace. The level emitter stops outputting the wood to the furnace as soon as x is reached. The wood already IN the furnace will be cooked anyway.

Why would AE stop crafting for no reason??

Did you change your AE network during the craft, e.g. placing or removing a ME cable? Every change to the net will make the crafting order list reset.

    Sorting & Ore Processing

We're all comparing apples with peaches here. AE is a storage system with logisitcs capabilities and LP is a logistics system with storing capabilities. If you want to keep things tidied up and have fast easy access, use AE. If you want things sent around automatically and have items/liquids...

Thermal Expansion 3 is boring (actually just RF)

Actually I don't. The boiler is supposed to stay off anyway. I'm running the actual DW20 pack and it contains an older version of open peripheral which can't read tank valves. So the boiler turns on when the tank is empty and off when its full (BC gates and a little RedNet RS latch). The output...

    Sorting & Ore Processing

I'd count that as a plus (at least for a non-instant system. In AE this would be not so nice;)). That way you don't have to open another inventory to access the ordered items or wait for the items to arrive. I use this very often, because you can already continue crafting or do something else...

Thermal Expansion 3 is boring (actually just RF)

Or simply make the fun of producing the fuel for your dynamos. Sure it's boring to suck the nether free of lava or have the 1001st tree farm set up. Time to break the circle. On my current world I set up a factorization solar plant for my steam (be prepared to use up a whole lot of silver for...

    Sorting & Ore Processing

@KingTriaxx: last statement of the LP-dev was that there are still things to think through, because LP and AE handle autocrafting completely different. AE does one by one and LP calculates the whole process first. Another significant difference between the both: LP can tell you immediately if a...

    Sorting & Ore Processing

Since when can LP access autocrafting from AE? I thought it only works the other way round. This opens a ton of new possibilities. I'll have to check that later. @Niels: You were talking 'bout craft on demand and that is working very well in AE. But we discussed about automatically keeping a...

    Sorting & Ore Processing

Yep, that's what I said above. But this way you have to set up a combo of the two for each liquid plus another pair for manual processing. But that's not quite the same as sending all the needed materials to two machines and have them make the item. I want one pair of crucible+transposer for all...

    Sorting & Ore Processing

This works as long as the recipe for making the desired items are insta-craft (eg. by the crafting core). As soon as there is time involved in the crafting process (cooking, macerating, extracting, filling up something), the export bus will run amok and do the crafting request again and agian...

    Sorting & Ore Processing

That's why I want to keep a certain amount of some items in the first place.. saving time for future projects ;). Personally I like my stocks being a bit more precise, but if it's ok for you to overstock and thus have your recources bound to certain projects (e.g. with diamonds crafted into the...
