@Succubism could poke Ben for us? Steam powered crafting would be hella rad. Would you care to expand on that? I think both those mods are pretty cool so hearing the other POV might change my mind.

I like the bronze tier machine textures but besides that most are no good. The guis are especially terrible.

Being simple is both TE's strength and it's downside. Is great for beginners, easy to understand, and a great base for which to add more complicated mods on top of. However because of that same simplicity it's just kind of boring. TE has very little innovation or creativity. Tl;dr it's strength...

Do you have optifine installed? If so remove that. Chances are it didn't improve your fps that much and it's not worth the visual glitches.

My favorites are the spruce and dark oak variants. That golden knob makes me happy.
