    quarry in twilight forest

I wouldn't feel bad about quarrying it. That place has trees that replace ores with their roots. The little bastards. That place deserves a little of its own medicine.

[Yogscraft] Keep steam boiler pull of charcoal.

Shneekey points out something I didn't mention: you're asking two different questions. The first question, "how to keep a steam boiler full of charcoal," is about production/supply/transportation of fuel. But, because of the way boilers work your second question, "How do i go about keeping them...

[Yogscraft] Keep steam boiler pull of charcoal.

Well, the firebox can pull from the contents of an adjacent container. I haven't tried a barrel, but I do know a chest works. You might keep a bunch of barrels full and use them to feed to the chest to keep it full (and if you do that, there's no reason to use anything but the most basic chest)...

    Automatic MJ production adjustments?

That sounds great! I didn't know about that because I haven't messed with the Nuclear Control mod at all. In fact I don't really use much EU for anything so the IC mods are taking a back seat. I haven't found good information yet on the Energy Sensor Kit and the Industrial Information Panel, so...

    Automatic MJ production adjustments?

Not large. I have a perpetual setup with a tree farm feeding coke ovens and the boiler burns the creosote. That's small enough (16 MJ/t total) and perpetual so I don't care about wasting that energy. It's big enough to run 5-8 general machines at once, but if I try to use a heavy-draw machine I...

    Automatic MJ production adjustments?

I am trying to build a setup where I have 1 steam boiler running all the time for my various machines, but then I have a multiple large banks of other engines set up to be used on demand if I start to draw a larger amount of MJ and the steam boiler can't keep up (lasers, bee processing, quarry...

    Bad Thaumcraft Nodes

Thank you for being helpful! The other problem I'm having is that I've not found a nether fortress yet either. Granted, I haven't really looked for one.

Steves carts treefarm - what components do I need?

I did some testing for you! The Steve's Carts tree harvester only recognizes the 4 vanilla tree materials as being trees. That means acacia, silverwood, twilight oak, rubbertree, and the tree that grew from any sapling you got through Forestry's cross-breeding feature (even if it's one of the 4...

Steves carts treefarm - what components do I need?

It depends on how you plan to use the products. I am not sure acacia wood burns to charcoal in a coke oven, for instance, and I know I've run into more than one recipe in which acacia logs or planks didn't work. If you want saplings, oak is your best bet by far when compared to the other vanilla...

    Thaumcraft Base

One more thing: The room where you make things and store your aspects in jars, needs to cater to your infusion alter. Figure out the size you want it to be, find out the max distance your tallow golem can travel to find a marker block, and that's as far from the corner of the room as you should...

    repair enchantment on books

I can confirm what Maldroth said. Out of 8 swords I enchanted, 2 have repair. Out of 2 iron chests of books, none of them do.

Steves carts treefarm - what components do I need?

(I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, so I will.) This cart moves very slowly, so it is the perfect application for which the wooden rails in Railcraft were designed. If you have the wood and creosote and would prefer to use standard tracks made of steel or iron somewhere else, replace them...

    Transition to Minecraft

I was looking for games where the main challenge is survival. I had played Stranded 2 and loved it despite it being very clunky and having horrible graphics. I was looking for a successor to it and someone suggested Minecraft. I thought MC was kinda fun, but only better than Stranded 2 in that...

    Music to Mine By

I usually fire up spotify, pick an artist I like, and listen to everything they ever did. Most recently the Eels, Starkey, Andres Segovia, the Avett Brothers, P.O.S., Spiritualized, LCD Soundsystem, and the Melvins. There were others, but these are the ones I really enjoyed. Sometimes I will...

Is it possible not to have a desert or cactus on my map?

Oh I gotcha. The OP didn't say why he wanted cactus, so water didn't have anything to do with his question. Later posts assumed pipe waterproofing as one reason why he might be looking for it, but it was also assumed he just wanted to dye something, so I didn't bother addressing the end result.

    Did I break my uu-matter?

I said, "GT gives you more complicated and harder ways to make energy." That's not an error, it's a fact. I know as well as you do that it does other things in addition to that. Me not listing ALL of them doesn't make me wrong. But most of those 50 machines can fall under the heading of "more...

Is it possible not to have a desert or cactus on my map?

Water? What does that have to do with anything? You don't need a cactus for water. And you don't need water or a cactus to make an MFE, some generators, and a mass fab - all of which takes less time than running straight east for 10 kilometers in hopes of seeing a cactus.

    Need Help:Fast Travel Methods

Steam locomotives. They are pretty fast, easy to keep fueled, and building a train setup is fun. Also, it's a whistling choo-choo!!! :D I have a mob spawner up at the roof of the build limit and use 12 levitators to get up there. Built me a little alter/pyramid thing that shoots me out a...

    Did I break my uu-matter?

I didn't think you were. You asked a question and I answered it. I didn't get emo about it. You simply pointed out the same thing I did: GT gives you more complicated and harder ways to make energy. That's something you can get plenty of in the mid game. So, extra challenge for mostly the...

    Did I break my uu-matter?

Why not? Because I made the world using the DW20 pack before Ultimate was ready or I'd ever heard of GT. I went with the DW20 pack because I could follow his vids with it. Even if I was looking to start over, GT doesn't have anything about it that is enticing other than extra challenge for...
