Flux isn't that big of a deal in moderation. Even if levels at your base get too high, staying indoors until it clears works fine unless you're near a dark node. If you have the goggles that let you see flux, your already in too deep to consider moving your thaumcraft room.

I saw that the private pack button was added and assumed that it was implemented, but now, looking more closely, I can't figure out how to create a private pack. Did I misunderstand and the feature is still in development, or do I just not know what I'm doing?

I've never made one myself, but there is a button for downloading custom packs on the launcher. If it hasn't been implemented yet, I'm sorry for getting your hopes up

Guys, hold the phone, lite is coming in this batch of updates. The official thread lists it as "Internal testing" much like the others, as well providing a list of mods NEW PACK! Yay, now tech support will become marginally more annoying because 2 just wasn't enough.

Did you consider using a custom pack? add mystcraft tweak some configs etc. etc, all without worrying about walking your players through every step. Also, more direct answer, no.

The official thread was just updated, the latest versions are all marked as 'internal development' Also the only changes were the two new mods to DW20 (plus updates to existing mods)

So the team tweeted that the packs aren't out yet (with the rather amusing FTBtime hashtag). Whether the tweet is simply outdated or the new versions are in development and pushed early is yet to be seen.
