Yeah I get what you're saying, but unless something else in the patch is changing liquids I don't think that's it. Default Sphax pack with nothing added runs at a solid 60 FPS. When I add the patch that's when it drops to 15 to 20-ish FPS.

I have been kind of holding off on starting my FTB world until the new RedPower comes out. One you won't have the volcanoes which are cool and I believe you'll be missing basalt and marble (if another mod adds these I'm unaware sorry) unless Azanor shares his method of forcing world regen with Elo.

It'll be great to get a stable RedPower version out. I've been watching Dire's server play series so long and it's making me crazy looking at all the goodies I can't play with yet. Elo where ever you I hope the power of bug squashing is flowing through you.
