they traditionally have come from growing potatoes - I was told 2% drop rate. I cannot get any tho from breaking potatoes and I have been trying

does anyone know if poisonous potatoes are broken? ive been trying to get one- picked literally 2000 potatoes and no poisonous ones. any help on this would be muchly appreciated!

There's no other way. You have to level up the pick

I think u can only modify copper picks with them now. It changed as u used to be able to modify iron like that as well

usually the priests are the ones that trade for it. it might be first trade but it might not be- have to keep trying til you get one. ours wanted emeralds in trade for an eye

it happens constantly on our server too with all metals except the overworld ones. silentrob is busy constantly fixing them for me lol

we boosted ours through three tiers last nite- from black steel to adamantine in a couple of hours. it really doesn't take that long

steel pickaxes start at steel or diamond lvl and go up to shadow steel. u have to boost inasholite I believe which is after shadow steel to be able to get cobalt. the metallurgy guide should be on the first page of this thread batch2 and anesos compiled a current one

you are not using the most recent version its a lower mining level than what u had

there are a few other ways to get steel easily before u head to the nether

one is called red gas which explodes and the other is nitrous which doesn't explode (that ive seen anyways) and theres also the black coloured gas that oozes up from bedrock isn't it called void gas? they are all nasty lol

green gas is flammable I always knock down any torches as fast as I can and start mining a channel up to give it some where to go so it doesn't catch on fire lol. u can eventually build gas collectors and tanks to collect it and it can be used in lamps and piped for other machines but it does...

U can make charcoal still, it's just a bit longer process using a crusher first to make sawdust.
