The server files for the newest update are released, I've been using them :D Not sure how server renting goes but maybe you should contact the people you're renting it from? Unless you have the server files, if so then you simply download the latest server and run that one

Yeah Skyrim and Minecraft mods are amazing, it just shows how much time people put into things they love even though they get nothing for it. And I can't wait for Dragonborn! :D

I played for a year but that was a long time ago, I think I got to level sixty something, it's not my favourite of games though. I just hate point and click games.

Don't worry I'm sure there will be :) The modpack devs are working really hard and I think they're just focusing on getting the modpack fully released. After that then you'll probably see a changelog :)

I'm not sure you'd be allowed to have a "official" one and I don't think they've made one. There are quite a few servers in the server section though, I you're looking for a FTB server then there's probably the place :D
