According to slowpoke he said last week on his stream , the launcher is at about alpha stage , able to launch a game but not much else So it will need to be tested alot more before it can be released

Come on thats absolutly not true, I actually do have my own server which I use for myself, it has been running 1.64 for over a month and during that time I have added many mods and none of them have broken my server. I guess we shall agree to differ on this as we could go round in circles for...

I understand that, but updating does not have to mean fixing, that is what you seem to be associating it with, updating can mean adding new versions of mods that add new content, mods are continually adding new stuff and having to wait weeks and months to get to that can be very frustrating.

I think direwolf new exactly what he was doing when he said he was waiting for FTB, he put the ball firmly in there court and let everyone know exactly who was causing the hold up. I can see no other reason for him making that video and statement

I would say the vast majority of your users do not run a server, and anyway updating is always optional, you do not have to update from 1.47 if you do not wish to, but the option is always there for those that do.

This is true but the reason they update so much is not to fix stuff that is broken, it is done to add new mods and update existing mods as they are released such as thaumcraft 4 recently and mystcraft to 1.64. In my opinion and it is only my opinion I think this a much better way to proceed than...

Don't worry about bieng snarky, I can take it I already do play the other pack and also my own pack I put together, and I will also play ftb if and when it comes out.

Coild somebody explain to me how the other launcher and mod pack can release weekly sometimes even daily updates without having to go through weeks and sometimes months of alpha and beta testing? And also have a live ingame support system built in. They have been on 1.64 for over a month now...

I second the suggestion to go with resonant rise it updates almost daily , without encountering any of the problems that ftb seem to blame on there lack of updates. I would be very surprised if you see a new ftb pack this year! And even if if you do it will still probably be 2 steps behind...

Comon Im not totally stupid, I think everyon has a 1.6 pack already, but the the thing with dire and FTB is they go together, I cannot see him releasing a pack through FTB then saying you will have to find a way to launch it yourself. He also said all the mods he wants in it are now publically...

So he will be packaging and hosting it himself then? He said he has passed it to the FTB team for them to put it together and the old launcher cannot do 1.6

That wasn't a hint that was an announcement that he has finalised the mod list and passed it to FTB team So either the new launcher is on its way very soon or his new pack is going to be another 1.5 pack

Really... I can assure you that you can add any mod you like into unhinged or any other ftb pack, why dont you go try it and see

What an absolute liad of twaddle, I have added GT to my unleashed pack with absoloutly zero problems, so to say stuff cannot be added into packs due to gregs hissy fit is just plain wrong. Anybody who wishes to can add GT to there unleashed or the other way round add moda to your unhinged pack.
