    How did you try? Is it not working after you install optifine by using one of the methods explained in official optifine installation guide?

    Buy more RAM, close applications or use operating system which does not waste half of the RAM. If lucky foamfix might decrease RAM usage enough to run pack with limited amount of RAM: https://asie.pl/Projects/Minecraft/Mods/FoamFix/

    At least FTB launcher removes that environment variable. Twitch and Curse probably does the same. All three launchers have proper way to control memory allocation, please open the launcher ans see settings. +1 I'm curious to see your log.

    Can we refrain posting "downgrade to java 7" as solution? Most of the current packs requires java8. Java 7 might work with some packs but not all. "Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: ignoring option PermSize=256M; support was removed in 8.0" is a warning, not error

    According to log there is duplicate mods in your instance. Failed update would have explain that. Check your instance and remove duplicated mods.

    Not sure if problem is the network because your log show that MC is failing to start because something else has already using port MC was trying to use.

    You did what? How and where did you install forge? How and where did you install FTB Beyond? Which application asked to contact admin?
