My 50 cents.. or pence... or whatever the hell the UK equivilant is of that. I can fully understand the principal behind FTB not awarding the prize to one of the staff. I think most of us on the FTB side agree with this - it seems biased to have the judging party give a prize to a related...

Personally, I read the content creator initiative as being focused on the Lets Play (and streaming) community within FTB. And whilst the current system works (I've met quite a few awesome people through it), it seems almost hidden away in the forums- kinda counter-intuitive for something...

Indeed, but I have a feeling it won't overwrite every config to require Gregtech, or change worldgen. Merely provide another tech progression route. Again, just a feeling.

I'd take a gander at TPPI2. It may not be an official FTB pack , but it seems to be striking up the right balance between insane tech, magic and slower progression, without relying on Gregtech to grind things to a halt.
