[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Same problem here. There are three cities in an 800m radius around the base, but none of them has a reactor building. They do have plenty of TiCon and PCraft buildings though, I got loads of seared bricks and compressed iron from there.

Fair enough, I didn't think about composting the melons. I haven't seen anybody in AgSkies go this route (and you had to make a gazillion dirt blocks there for a quest), but still a valid point.

You get the milk for it from the soybeans. Salt either from sifting dust or from using Fresh Water. Edit: Nevermind, Twisto was faster. :) Don't tell anybody or it will be removed in the next update. ;) But that's why I still don't understand, why for example melons are such an issue for...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

With the current SoL settings it's possible to simply make a Large Meal or Feast and just keep eating that, without ever hitting diminishing returns. The Bacon Mushroom Cheeseburger for example is very easy to make, all you need is rice, lots of soybeans and some mushrooms. Use the AE Grind...

Do you still remember the builds with RedPower2? All the tubes, sorting machines, transposers, filters and relays? And then Applied Energistics appeared. SFM is a similar leap forward. Doesn't mean it is always better or that everybody likes it ("magic blocks" etc.), just that what you can do...

No credits necessary, SFM it just a fantastic mod. I used it in AgSkies for almost all automation and still have barely scratched the surface. Here the basic Soul Sand setup: And just to demonstrate how awesome SFM is, let's fill the drum back up.

You get leather, if you "cook" rotten flesh in a furnace. Yes, I'm leveling Looting/Fortune on my scythe right now. Started at 100/450 from a random modifier and is 254/450 right now. It just goes up really slooow. :)

/agree. It is a fun toy and probably still usable to quickly get a stack of bricks or glass. But to be really useful for getting ingots, you need 50 blocks of Lapis. And by the time you got that from sifting gravel, you have probably already looted a couple TiCon buildings in the city and are...

Really enjoying 1.1.2 so far. You mentioned that you want to add Glistering Melon as drop. Is that available already or planned for 1.1.3? Would be great to be able to craft Healing Potions. Awesome! Good to have EnderIO back, setting up MFR mob farms with the normal TE ducts just feels wrong. :)

Unless I'm completely mistaken, then it checks the condition at the spawning location. The spawner itself can be hidden in a wall in complete darkness. It will still not spawn anything, as long as all possible spawning locations are above the required light level. Problem with Pigmen is, that...

Look at it this way. There are no real end game mods in this pack (yet?). So what you would normally do very early in another pack, is done mid game here. If everything would be readily available, how long would it take to "finish" this pack?

SFM makes this really easy to set up. Have the barrel sit on an Inventory Cable and the chest with sand plus a drum also connected to the cables somewhere. Then water, sand and the soul sand all go through the same side. The programming is also straightforward, you don't have to add any...

<-- Such a newbie. I never realized that silk touch on a hatchet allows you to get leaves, it would have saved me a lot of invar in 1.1.1. :) Does this also work with a scythe?

That is part of Zans Minimap. There is a shortcut for it, press M to go into the map options and check the configuration what it is. The longer way is to press M for the options and go into the Waypoints menu. From there you can add waypoints and enable/disable, delete or modify all waypoints...

You don't need the map, just create a new world. It will have the ship, city etc. in it.

Yikes, so its not only lava/pyrothium? What other types of mob traps are possible then? Maybe a good old pressure plate/sticky piston and suffocate them? Or do we really have to wait for the MFR grinders? Are you going to make a 1.1.2 LP? Your first one was really great.

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Running away is actually a rather efficient method to deal with this issue. :) As soon as the sun comes up, jump over the wall and run 100-120 meters into one direction and then back to your base. Most of the mobs will have despawned and it only takes a minute or two. (Still plenty of time to...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

This seems to be the only viable starting option left. Build the Berlin Wall around your ship as fast as possible, then build up some decent food and water supply. I'm almost done with that part, but now there are about a gazillion (give or take a few) creepers surrounding the base. Probably...

Another reason to use servos, is that you can set filters and quantities. My composters are closed loops - take leaves, saplings, sugar cane, whatever out of the chest and put the dirt back in. The itemduct for extracting stuff has simply dirt on the blacklist. (But then again, SFM can do this...
