I have to agree with the OP. Gregtech adds a ton of cool things but tampering with an already-existing mod (other than the matterfab.. makes uu-matter WAY more balanced. Though I set mine to require 2.5mil EU instead of 16.6mil-the mere fact that it needs scrap to run is a good balancing factor...

The magic pack is an entirely new instance/pack. You won't even see your worlds from the FtbBeta pack unless you manually move it over, in which cause, it will most likely crash/you'll lose things.

That doesn't mean 30 fps looks smooth as ever, because to someone as detail-oriented as me, 30 fps is very choppy. 40-50 fps is usually okay with me. Anything lower and I start to get frustrated with the choppiness and slowed response time of the game.

I don't get what your problem is? Just check the packs section of the forum. Unzipping what? You just toss the zip in the texturepacks folder and it works. No unzipping needed. Also, I've never gotten a GL post-render OOM error using even 64x packs. And my system is 32bit with 3.25gb ram.

Buildcraft has automatic crafting tables. I don't know how you are harvesting the melons--probably with forestry, i dont know much about it--but sending them through buildcraft pipes into an autocrafting table will allow you to automatically craft the melons into seeds.

The one problem is that the Advanced diamond drill isn't faster. Testing with the advanced chainsaw yields no faster results either. The only thing, albeit a good advantage, is that the advanced drill can cut through grass and gravel as fast as dirt, which makes terraforming easier. However...

I was pretty disappointed as well. The only benefit to the chainsaw is that it kills things quicker. The drill has no advantage whatsoever.

Actually, it IS 4x insulated wire But yes, it was removed because it had tons of bugs.
