Horizons III: What are you doing for mob systems?

I was always fond of Lava Blade systems, myself. Sure more can go wrong, but that's half the fun, right?

Throwing together a quick pack to introduce a newbie

I look at it a bit more logical (perhaps too logical, but, meh). If you were going to build a machine that could automine a different dimension, what would it take? I assume we'll need power, high capacity power transfer, some heavy duty mining equipment, something to breach into the other...

Throwing together a quick pack to introduce a newbie

I kind of assumed this was the gateway into Avaritia, since you would need boatloads of stuff to progress, which would be provided by the eventual Quantum Quarry. Requiring the boatload of stuff up-front would turn it into a "Why bother, I got this far without it."

Throwing together a quick pack to introduce a newbie

The Quantum Quarry essentially establishes the "Creative Mode in Survival Mode" due to the, now hassle-free, infinite resources. By this point, you should have your storage system of choice set up and troubleshot to perfection, gear appropriate for ruling all but the most dangerous foes, and...

There may be a BoP config to disable the change of grass color, sky color, and foliage color. Not sure how in depth that config is, as I haven't used BoP since 1.7.

Just a quick thought. BoP changes the grass color depending on Biome, but the grass slabs added by Building Bricks will retain the default Vanilla grass color. I know how important world gen is to you, so I wanted you to be aware of the inconsistency.

    RFTools Advanced Shape manipulation

You're the greatest. I was miserable thinking that I was missing out staying in 1.10 (a few key mods still missing to make my 1.12 pack). This changes everything...

    RFTools Advanced Shape manipulation

Good news, yes. Bad news, 1.12. I'm not expecting a backport to 1.10, but I would love it if it happened.

    Is Silent Gems OP?

I saw Silent's Gems in the tail end of 1.7, but I didn't get the full experience until I made the leap to 1.10. I used it over TiCo in my first custom pack, which had strong Mekanism and RFTools agendas (also where I cut my teeth with MineColonies, but that's a different topic). I fell in love...

    Is Silent Gems OP?

OP is in the eyes of the beholder. I personally think the tools in Silent's Gems are on par with those of TiCo, although the route to power seems more tiered in Silent's Gems. Silent's Gems does add customizable armor and shields as well as basic tools, which sets it apart a level. The...

Throwing together a quick pack to introduce a newbie

I've yet to mess with COFH world gen post 1.7, but you could do exactly what you're suggesting back then, so I assume you can still. Back then it was as simple as adding two entries for iron, then assigning the proper clump size, density, and Y-limits for each. They could even overlap, if...

Throwing together a quick pack to introduce a newbie

I've been tinkering with a similar concept, although since my computer is dying, my pack is considerably lighter. I'll address your pack from both an overall and personal status. First off, I've opted to leave EnderIO out of my pack. As much as I enjoy what it brings to the table, it does...

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

Glad I'm not the only one with an Obsolete Equipment Storage. I do tend to use the Grindstone as decoration quite often, and it comes in handy if my other methods are tied up in production and I want to make a small bit of something else.

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

1.7 packs could usually get by with 4gb RAM. Changes to the base game code require 1.10+ packs to use more RAM, usually around 6gb is enough.

Just wanted to point out how disgustingly OP the Rustic Apiary is, for any who haven't played with it (mentioned due to it's being in Sprout). It requires a bit of wood and a single bee (hives aren't too hard to find unless you're messing with world gen), and it outputs beeswax. Beeswax is...

Unrelated, mostly, but any Apple user should ask Siri what zero divided by zero is. I found the answer quite entertaining.

Again, I think you misjudge the pace he's aiming for (I may be wrong, correct me if so). First off, he's not saying that he wants to make a Tier 8 DE Orb using only Canola. That hasn't been said, and in fact, it has already been stated that he intends power to be a progression. Canola is a...

Throwing together a quick pack to introduce a newbie

Right, I think @Drbretto is looking for the end game mods to be projects to tinker with while he sculpts his world. Minecraft isn't a game everyone plays to "beat" the pack they are playing as quickly as possible. Some do, and if that's your thing, power to you. If not, it allows you to take...
