    Colin's adventures in 1.12

Oh yeah. That's not at all ominous...

Essentially, only with all the 1.12 hotness.

When it's ready. There's a chance they are waiting for EnderIO, Buildcraft, and maybe even Thaumcraft (no idea what state that's in these days), but if that were true, they would more than likely have to wait for them to release, then test them for stability, then begin to integrate them into...

Best way to reduce lag from generators turning on and off (Or any other interesting solutions)

My early game power is a self-sustaining Arboreal Extractor setup, that I've managed to upgrade a bit as I've moved along. I'm still on the brink of early-mid game (I've intentionally pushed off going to the Nether, which limits some choices). I'm finding the setup to be more than enough power...

Best way to reduce lag from generators turning on and off (Or any other interesting solutions)

Indeed, the Power Monitor is a powerful beast. Make sure to set the top threshold with a bit of space (85-90% depending on the capacity of the bank) since the generators will likely burn whatever fuel they are actively consuming (but not burn additional fuel) before stopping. Otherwise, you're...

    power network question

I think the Breaker Switch is only manual, but the Redstone Breaker responds to any redstone signal.

Problem SkyFactory 3.0.15: How to get a Bloodwood Sapling

I don't have an answer to the question itself, but if you can and are willing to change config to get one, why not just cheat one in? Seems the simpler route. It's your game, play how you want to.

    power network question

Is the Immersive Engineering Breaker what you want? It's literally a killswitch breaker, but only for LV and MV lines. Also, the redstone breaker does the same thing, but it functions via redstone signal and applies to all voltage.

I'll second Birds Nests. It's a nice immersive way to pick up some resources. The loot table is configurable, too, which gives a pack maker lots of flexibility.

    [Direwolf20 1.12.x] Riddle78's Questions & Musings

A BR Turbine, using Ludicrite core and 80 blades, would consume 2000mb/t of steam (and return it as water, allowing for a closed loop cycle) and generate a touch over 24kRF/t. Most Reactors are capable of producing enough steam for multiple Turbines. I used to use the RailCraft Boilers (not...

    [Direwolf20 1.12.x] Riddle78's Questions & Musings

Extreme Reactors turns Yellorium (oreDict with Uranium in most packs) into Cyanite and power (or steam in an actively cooled system). That Cyanite it used for components of the Turbine, which can net you more power and/or more efficiency. It could be reprocessed into Bluetonium in old Big...

    [Direwolf20 1.12.x] Riddle78's Questions & Musings

A small Draconic Evolution Power Core might be the best option if materials aren't gating it. If they are, Thermal Expansion Energy Cells enchanted with Holding can hold a fair amount, are upgradable, and can be chained together for extra storage if needed.

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

My 1.10 Iron Backpacks setup made an inventory full of Forestry backpacks seem clunky and inadequate. Not sure if the upgrade system is fully functional in 1.12 yet, but it wasn't when I was thinking about making the switch. I'm sure it will be ready by the the time I am at this rate.

Anyone have a rainbow generator? I got a question about automation

You could opt to only deliver fuel one at a time, which would prevent over burning. Something like a TD Servo on a chest of fuels set to send on a redstone signal, then have a clock pulse it as needed. This way, a redstone clock or timer could send fuel to all the generators at the same time...

    [Direwolf20 1.12.x] Riddle78's Questions & Musings

Thermal Suite comes equipped with a facade system to hide the pipes. I happen to like the Cryostabilized Fluxducts, so I've never had them, but I've hidden off a fair amount of other duct with little effort. You could also use an energy cell to add more connection points and steady the ebbs...

You could take a cue from Steven Tyler and name her Liv.

    [Direwolf20 1.12.x] Riddle78's Questions & Musings

There is a long history of Dire not doing things in the smartest manner. I give him a pass because he does a decent job of explaining how the things he uses work, even if there is a better way to do it.

Those little things that irk you about Minecraft

Changing things completely here, but I'm always irked that Minecraft rivers are at flat sea level, meaning there is no way they could flow in any direction. I know a few mods have attempted to make them look like they flow (Streams, was it?), but having riverbeds tie into the adjacent biomes'...

    [Direwolf20 1.12.x] Riddle78's Questions & Musings

I usually have a Witch spawner. Passive generation of Redstone and Glowstone (sticks and potions are optional saves) saves me from having to run for supplies during extended crafting sessions.
