Haven't played Continuum so don't know whether recipes are 'vanilla' or not, but from a quick look at the modlist you've at least got conduits from Thermal Dynamics and pipes from ExtraUtilities2. You'll need a water 'generator' of some kind (aqueous accumulator maybe).

What pack are you in? And do you mean the carpenter from Forestry? Normally, you can use any conduits/pipes (eg. EnderIO, Thermal Expansion/Dynamics, ExtraUtilities2, Buildcraft) to pump water in, but it'll depend on what version of minecraft and what pack you're using.

Just checking - is the original wheat fully grown?

I find 2x2 spruce far more productive/efficient than dark oak for charcoal. They produce a lot more logs and are easier to chop down (using gt axes) than dark oak. Never had a problem with saplings either (in fact I would get so many I would use them up in a little vanilla furnace setup cooking...

By the way, the third hatch is only necessary if you can't do all of the maintenance, so you could replace it with a casing. Another test might be to use two battery buffers with only two batteries in each and place the buffers directly onto the two energy hatches.

Try changing out the tin cables to copper cables (insulated) (always make a backup just in case of something unexpected). If I'm not mistaken, the maximum power you could deliver to the three LV hatches with tin cables is 3*32.

Have you tried Hambeau's idea? Is Tinkers even in the pack? Why do you think it's possible to melt a piston in gold to get gold (ie have you seen someone else do it)? So much info you could give to help people help you but you seem to just want an instant answer.

Just checking - have you actually tried firing off a recipe? In the Pyramid Reborn pack, the crafters didn't suck up any power until the crafting process began. I was using TE conduits, btw.

Fair enough, although with a mob farm (using cursed earth, say) you can provide both the power and the bonemeal (power could come from rotten flesh in an exutils2 death generator) ... it becomes a completely passive operation.

The vent is not the issue. We've already established that hoppers do work in general with steam machines (not boilers). Desman has found some exceptions.

I get what you're saying about cheat mode, but I really think the chunkloading issue is a special case for SSP. We'll have to disagree about it. There's only so much that can be crammed into a quest book, but I agree more general advice would be exceedingly helpful.
