Ok did some mining on hard. It's a little high, feels like around a 1/5 chance per ore. I'm not going to pretend that I don't enjoy the "how much ore can you mine before the rest explodes" race :P. I would suggest a drop from 50/1000 to 25/1000 at most. We are mining in hell, not candyland. :P

It's most definitely on hard. EDIT: Unless it's not.... Did I really only change it ingame instead of in the server properties before now? >_> It may have been on "easy". Now I feel scrub! I'll respond with a new nether ore opinion later today.

I've been playing on a private 1.1.5 server the past few days, and the nether ore explosion chance feels fine to me. I still tend to get more ores than I lose, which considering every ore is double an overworld one and more common, the nether still feels like the better place for mining. Nether...

Aluminum brass idea is relatively good. Those numbers would need to be a bit lower though, so it doesn't take forever to make the first batch. Probably 1+2+5. Repairing with a smeltery seems like it would have to be a TiC or TiC Tweaks update, not a BnB update. Don't need another ore tripler...

Squeek found the problem: BnBTweaks{0.1.2} [Blood N' Bones Tweaks] (BnBTweaks-mc1.6.4-0.1.2.jar) Unloaded->Constructed->Pre-initialized->Initialized->Post- That isn't BnBTweaks 0.1.4 where the patch was added.

That looks like Cauldron does not agree with the patch we wrote to attempt to fix the nether crash. BnBTweaks.cfg to disable it.

Those who still have a copy of Cauldron or Bukkit use that. There is currently nothing I know of for 1.6 that can currently be downloaded though.

Cauldron is kinda dead, died with Bukkit.

When a TiC pickaxe falls on the ground, it cannot be burnt, exploded, despawned, or destroyed in any way. You can lose them if a mob picks them up, if they are inside of another item that can despawn, if you die with magnet mode on(dirty cheater), etc.

Congrats on first death/getting your stuff back! I remember back when the Lycanite's Mobs configs were messed up, and anything from that mod (including kobolds) were occasionally force despawned....

No no, we're waiting to see if it works. It's definitely plausible. Even if it doesn't work, I expect the "worst" that would happen is it still crashing, but with a slightly different crash report. :P

By the way everyone, I'm responsible for 1.1.4 not being out yet. I'm the worst, I know :P. Hopefully it turns out to be worth it.

Captain Obvious to the rescue! The simplest thing would be to just close the portal when you aren't using it. :P
