    FTB News - May 15th, 2015

I'm glad that I may continue to be a part of the growth of FTB, and I'll point out to those who may be skeptic about having 3 new moderators who are all also Phoenix Team members that we weren't chosen as mods because we are PT members, but for the same reasons that we were chosen for the...

    Enhancing the Farming Experience

Minecraft doesn't have the concept of greenhouses though, temperature is solely biome dependent and you can't modify anything outside of that. I don't want to have crops checking the surrounding chunks for a closed environment. It is neat that there are alternative ways of achieving the same...

    Enhancing the Farming Experience

I really like hiding the true, nitty gritty chemistry and biology behind more minecraft friendly terms, coming to a good balance might not be the easiest. I also really like things that encourage the player to get out of their base and explore the world, searching for rich soils reminds me a bit...

    Enhancing the Farming Experience

The second system would be more versatile, I'll think out loud a bit A plant could check something like nitrogen, phosphorus, and maybe some others (Soil composition gets really complicated and I don't want to overwhelm part of the potential user demographic.) Obviously everything is going to...

    Enhancing the Farming Experience

This sounds like an interesting idea, I'll think about this more, the fertilizer definitely, (as well as a compost mechanic). The chickens dropping seeds I am not so sure about, it would work really well for actual airborn birds that seem to migrate, but the chickens stay in pretty much the same...

    FTB's Declassified Community Survival Guide

Respect other gameplay styles, there are many out there, and people have varying opinions on how the game is best played. Suggesting new things is great, but forcing something on someone else or making them feel bad for how they play is not.

    Enhancing the Farming Experience

First: a little disclaimer - I haven't really stopped working on Harder Start (for any of you who remember me talking about it) I just don't have the time to dedicate to working on any one big project by myself. I will hopefully release a number of smaller mods taking some of the work there to...

Really stupid things that people have said about Modded MC(Off topicness makes moderators tired)

So the title says that off topicness makes moderators unhappy, but anything at isn't bashing something "stupid" that someone says is technically off topic. I'm pretty sure its sad whether things are on topic or off. Also new moderator(s) are in training, I think...

    Decorative Mods I Can Remove?

If Infinity doesn't add InpureCore, you could probably add it in safely, it culls the microblocks from NEI to free up a few pages. Also, something like Railcraft is nicer to use for decoration IMO, there are plenty of mods which add decorative blocks without overdoing it.

Really stupid things that people have said about Modded MC(Off topicness makes moderators tired)

Well maybe the internet would be a nicer place if people didn't adhere to the mentality shared by many of the people in this thread...

    Ore Gen Anything

This is definitely useful but the functionality already exists in CoFH Core. Is there a way this is better?

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

I learned that trying to override the function that enables blocks to drop whatever they do in an item that extends ItemPickaxe doesn't work, but it does if your item simply extends ItemTool.

    Forum Moderator Applications

I get it. There are quite a few of us PT members which can be a very good thing and at times a bad thing. I've definitely seen threads get lots of traffic from phoenix team people because we care about the community and we are passionate about what happens in FTB. As far as loyalty is concerned...

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

It also depends on what you hope to achieve through your license, because sometimes OS under a certain license is just saying "here world, I wrote some code, have it" and you set it free. There is also the argument that if you don't have an open license and someone tries to steal your code you...

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

True, but it is actually a way for the general member pool to have a say in what happens, and once everything is actually said and done, I'm just making sure that people won't be allowed to grumble and complain that someone they wanted didn't get nominated or something. I think part of the idea...

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

Just to remind people: there aren't that many names or recommendations on here considering how truly big these forums are, if the moderators mean something to you, you have a chance to have a say on who the task goes to :)
