    Tinkerer's construct balance ideas

Ooh! I didn't know this! Does it only work with BC tanks or can you put faucets on other kinds of tanks? Like Railcraft, Portable, or Ender tanks? I think I may start storing alll of my ingots in liquid form from now on.

    Resignation

Don't tell anyone, but you were my favorite moderator. I'm sad to see you go, but I wish you luck with whatever you do next.

More news about FTB's Future. (Important announcement)

Honestly, I would love to own a FTB Unleashed T-Shirt (plus, providing a platform for other mod devs to sell their own merchandise sounds like a great idea). As long as you don't start selling mods or modpacks (which you've already said you won't do), then this sounds like a great idea. One...

    Tinkerer's construct balance ideas

This. The problem with balancing against vanilla is that most mods completely break that by virtue of being mods. Ore doubling, lava generation, automation, virtually-infinite storage in a small space, automated mining, etc. All of these things replace or improve upon vanilla mechanics. Who...

Vanilla hoppers can be used to empty out basins and casting tables too. Just put a hopper underneath each basin/table, set up in a line that leads to a chest (make sure the hoppers are pointed the right way). All of the resulting tool parts, ingots, and blocks will be picked up by the hoppers...

    Logistics Pipes Vs. Applied Energistics

I like Logistics Pipes because of a few specific things that it can do better than AE. Such as the supplier pipe, which keeps specific amounts of certain materials stocked (which is really useful for Forestry and MFR farms that grow multiple kinds of crops, for example). Yes, it's possible to...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Open up the computer's screen and hold CTRL+T to terminate whatever program is currently running (great way to get out of an infinite loop). To completely restart the computer, hold CTRL+R. Not sure about the fruit picker. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. And I don't think I've...

Been away for a while what is the best new modpack?

All of the mods were problematic. I didn't add them one by one. I was building the pack from scratch, so I downloaded all of the mods I planned to use and dumped them into a pack. Cue tons of conflicts. The one-by-one approach would've taken longer than just going into the configs and...

Yeah, and that's not even a TiC recipe. It's from Forestry.

    The rebirth of IC2 ?

Right, because nobody at all will take up the task of maintaining or adding to TE once King Lemming stops developing it. Because he has refused to allow anybody to decompile his mod or steal any ideas from it. Oh, wait... Honestly, I don't see TE dying out any time soon. The mod itself may...

Been away for a while what is the best new modpack?

At least 150 mods, probably closer to 200 or perhaps even more (I can't remember exactly; I just remember that there were a lot). I was playing SSP, and I couldn't use NEI to dump ids or anything like that because conflicting block ids cause an immediate crash. After several iterations of...

Been away for a while what is the best new modpack?

The last time I did that (while the 1.5.2 wgt and ngt packs were still in testing) it took me two days to sort out all of the id conflicts and various config options for ore generation and such. Choosing between three modpacks is so much simpler.

    Tinkerer's construct balance ideas

Whoops, it turns out that's from Basic Components (which is included with Calclavia's MFFS, I believe). Thanks for pointing that out. I take back what I said about the steel recipe before. I can't remember whether Calclavia's MFFS is included in FTB Unleashed or whether I added it in myself...

Lets See Some Bases! Give Us a Tour!

This is something that I've never been good at. I always prefer to build on relatively flat areas, or to make my own flat area to build on. Then again, I'm the kind of person who lives in 9x9s until I get to the point where I'm forced to choose between building a proper base or building so...

Been away for a while what is the best new modpack?

If you used Ultimate before, then the decision pretty much comes down to whether you want GregTech or not. Unleashed has tons of mods with everything from tech to magic, but no GregTech. Unhinged has GregTech, but fewer mods, and the mods it does have are entirely tech-focused. Unhinged...

    Figured I'd drop in...

"wrapping up" TE?! (Obligatory "NOOOOOOO!!!") With that said, I wish you the best of luck with whatever new direction your life appears to be taking. If that direction is away from TE, then so be it. I hope TE will continue to be maintained, improved, and extended if/when you leave (and...

    The rebirth of IC2 ?

...This seems a lot like change simply for the sake of change, which is never a good thing. Not that I actually use IC2 at all anyway, but I'm not sure whether this makes me want to start using IC2 stuff again or just straight-up remove it from my instance. I've only used something from IC2...

    Tinkerer's construct balance ideas

You can actually put cobble in a smeltery, however the result is definitely not smooth stone. I'm assuming you can pour it into casts to make stone tool parts, but when I tried dumping it in a casting basin it used up a lot more than one block of cobble and gave me something else entirely...

What if every mod had a Gregtech version?

It may add endgame stuff, but it makes it take four times as long to reach the endgame. And when I'm playing a game, I like to have fun, rather than being forced to do boring things in order to reach potential future fun, which is basically what GT does. "Tedious" != "Difficult" It IS a...

What if every mod had a Gregtech version?

The simple fact is, not many mod authors want to balance their mods twice, which is what you're asking them to do. And there are plenty of players who don't play Minecraft just to show off about the things that they accomplished despite having to undergo massive amounts of tedium. I certainly...
