    My Problem with Minecraft Recently

I've gotten so bored with the early beginning stuff that I now skip right over it in every new world. I just go into creative and build a quarry (usually with just the default small size) and let it mine down to bedrock, dumping everything into chests and barrels with translocators. Then I...

Thaumcraft 4 Impossible (edit: Without learning to combine aspects)

Sometimes you need to experiment with combining aspects in order to unlock other aspects that let you research more things. If you've unlocked an aspect before, the aspects needed to create it will be shown in your Thaumonomicon. Also, there are ways to passively generate more aspects. The...

    MFFS_Cal_v3.1.0.175 but forcicium still around?

Calclavia's MFFS does not and has never contained Forcicium. It's not that it was depreciated but that Calclavia's MFFS is a complete rewrite and redesign with completely different mechanics that is completely incompatible with older versions. If you find Forcicium in a world with Calclavia's...

    FTB SSP Retro Pyramid Newb

I definitely recommend learning as much of the mechanics of EE2 and its various different blocks and items as you can. There are a few different ways to collect and manipulate EMC other than just direct conversion with the Transmutation Tablet, several of which are much more efficient and...

    Tinkers Construct smeltery questions.

I'm not sure about this, but if you pump the liquids into the bottom block instead of the top one it might work properly. Dunno what will happen when/if you pump liquids out though.

    Update Ultimate to 1.6.4

I should really give that pack a try. Aside from TE (which isn't even in 1.6 yet), it's got all of my favorite mods.

FTB - It´s to easy, how to make it hard?

I'm using Logistics Pipes for the most part now. Admittedly, it's almost as bad as AE but it's so much more fun to play with that I don't really care, lol. And at least it doesn't have the whole "magic block" thing that AE has. With AE, you can store all of your items in a single block, and a...

    FTB SSP Retro Pyramid Newb

FYI, if you lose something irreplaceable, like a transmutation tablet or your bucket of lava, it can be replaced. If you jump off the edge or otherwise die and respawn back up in the starting area, there's a room off to the side where you can receive replacements of all of the starting...

FTB - It´s to easy, how to make it hard?

Unlike the OP, I don't really enjoy challenging myself with Minecraft, but this actually sounds entertaining.

    Base Design

Well, in my latest build (which I've barely even begun so it probably won't be finished before 1.7 comes out ) I'm not using anything from AE at all (I'm using Logistics Pipes instead) and I'm not using Ender Chests except for a single one that will interface with an Ender Bag I carry...

FTB - It´s to easy, how to make it hard?

The point I was trying to make was that a lot of people tend to use the cheapest, easiest, or sometimes just the most convenient methods to accomplish things, then take to the forums to complain about how it's too easy. I wouldn't say using other forms of sorting/storage would be more...

    POLL: GUI Scale

I don't know why Auto is so huge on my monitor (even bigger than Large). Then again, I run it at 1680x1050, which is an increasingly uncommon resolution these days. But it seems like Auto just arbitrarily picks a size somewhere between Medium and "OMGWTFWhyIsItSoHuge".

FTB - It´s to easy, how to make it hard?

Try the Magic Farm pack on Hard mode. That's about as challenging as FTB gets on its own. Besides, quarries are what I would consider "easy-mode" resource gathering. If you're building a quarry, you're not looking for a challenge. FTB is entirely self-motivated, so it's only as easy as you...

    POLL: GUI Scale

Auto is absolutely huge on my monitor. I used to play on Large but I wanted to see more items in NEI so I lowered it to Normal and just played with it until I got used to it. Now I can't stand going back to Large.

    Base Design

Ooh, I'd forgotten about that block. I typically rely on levitators or plain old vanilla ladders for multi-floor structures, but an elevator block would be perfect! I don't really have any set building style. For the longest time, I just built 9x9s (although mine at least had windows instead...

    Base Design

I love this idea. I'm going to steal it for my next base. I rarely build towers, since traversing up and down multiple floors can often be a pain, but I really love the idea of a multi-floor base with a central column for item/liquid/power transport.

Applied Energistics keep x number of item in machine?

I mentioned Logistics Pipes back on the first page of this thread almost four months ago, before Logistics Pipes was even in an FTB pack.

    The rebirth of IC2 ?

Well, I had less ocular fortitude than I expected, and I'm now half-blind, but I did check out the forum. It's hard to tell what they think. Looks like they like it, or at least the people who don't like it aren't speaking up. Then again, it seems like most of the active posters there are...

    The rebirth of IC2 ?

Because it's more fun. This is why I don't play any form of competitive Minecraft (nor do I often play on a server). I play for fun and I build things for fun. And yes, sometimes I rely on shortcuts like Ender Chests for the convenience factor, but at the same time I try to avoid stuff like...

    Show off your computer/laptop setup

Oh, I didn't notice that you were using the same case, lol. I'm surprised it seems small for you, though. I've got SO much extra space in mine. Must be that giant heatsink you mentioned, since I'm just using the stock cooling for now. The Carbide 500R is what I would normally classify as "huge."...
