Best way to produce massive amounts of MJ mid-game ?

Is rancher the only way to get milk automatically now? Has anyone tested dispenser; I know setting a dispenser next to water with a bucket will fill the bucket, could the same be true for cows?

    Liquid metals could be AWESOME!

While I agree liquid storage has to be more end-game compact, I don't think it necessarily have to be that as early game. All tank solutions right now are earlygame (tanks, iron tanks) or midgame (steel tanks, ender tanks) accessible, and I'd prefer if a new more space efficient tank was...

    Liquid metals could be AWESOME!

Yeah nowadays copper isn't that valuable at all if one doesn't pursue IC2 intensely, rather you can use copper/bronze as a substitute to lessen the load on iron supplies (for example in tools and armor).

    Tinker's Contruct Info

Ah, yeah, that explains why it wasn't exactly x3! I wonder why to go to the trouble of making =Floor(Dur/3)*9 rather than just do Dur*3? I mean, the numbers will only sometimes be marginally more even... But thanks for pointing that out, I'll try to look at some of the other and try to calculate...

    Tinker's Contruct Info

That's... weird. I thought it worked like the Unbreakable enchantment. I'll do a quick test on how many blocks I can break with a paper tool with different Reinforced and report back. EDIT: Seems you're right, a 39 dur tool gave 40 with no reinforced, 46 with reinforced 2 and 54 with reinforced...

    Tinker's Contruct Info

Well, as I said in my first post on the topic, for example the binding affects the handle modifier (and thus the final durability) of tier two tools, while your link says binding only affects special materials. And of course since durability is calculated completely different, the durability...

    Liquid metals could be AWESOME!

Oh I didn't mean factorization grinder, I meant the AE thingy... quartz grinder I think? The one you crank by hand. Maybe something completely different. But I don't really see it with how it's so essential. It completely depends on your goal with the map. If the goal is to get access to all...

    Tinker's Contruct Info

Shouldn't this be 1:X+1 chance? Reinforced 1 has a 1/2 chance to take damage, not 1/3. Unless it's been changed, I think it's worth to consider that if you have a EU-powered tool, you might want one piece to be ardite for Stonebound 2, then damage the tool to nearly broken, thus getting the...

    Liquid metals could be AWESOME!

I think you might be partially mixing up something having aesthetics as primary value and something being a passing fad? There's reasons many people still prefer the quarry to the much more efficient and cheaper mining turtle (or for that matter the IC2 miner), and I think one of those reasons...

    Tinker's Contruct Info

There are a lot of different things that plays into the end result. I've done some experimenting and I can tell you what I've found out but it's nowhere near exhaustive. Tier one tools: Speed is determined by the head only. Mining type is determine by the head only. Durability is head durability...

Best way to produce massive amounts of MJ mid-game ?

I think it's done client-side, though I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure there's an option to disable the sound of breaking leaves, and that does a lot to the FPS at least on my computer. And I don't see why a sound config would have to be server side. I guess testing is the only way to be sure though.

    Liquid metals could be AWESOME!

I hope neither liquid metals nor multiblocks are passing fads. Just like the ore doubling, item piping etc I hope they become established and well-integrated parts of the modpacks. Multiblocks are already to a large degree, though many still have issues with the multifarms, but other than that...

    Get Tons of Unlimited EU!

Yeah, sure. Just too bad it's too inefficient to really consider though. Is it even energy positive? I'm not sure since it takes quite a lot of power for all those centrifuges? But mostly anything can be made into energy some way or another, and it's easy to come up with odd ways to get power...

Best way to produce massive amounts of MJ mid-game ?

I would say that cow>sewers>compost is competing with soul shard>skeleton farm>pulverizer for bone meal instead, but those would be the two most effective yeah.

When do you get bored of a world?

I get bored of minecraft itself on and off and stop playing for weeks or months, or at least bored of a style of playing and move to a completely different mod(pack) (usually cycling between FTB, terrafirmacraft, and vanilla hardcore). Then when I start being interested in minecraft again, I...

How to trim out any EU related mods in Unleashed? (and play unleashed more generally)

The recipe I think is from Minefactory Reloaded.

    Get Tons of Unlimited EU!

So now we're looking at a centrifuge for redstone, a centrifuge for copper, a centrifuge for rubber, some kind of rubber farm, a wiremill, and energy to keep all these going to get a mediocre amount of energy. I think at that point just slapping down an MFR woodfarm, (induction) furnace and...

    Liquid metals could be AWESOME!

Since they go by the forge liquid dictionary I don't think there should be any problems? I think RC tanks can automatically handle every liquid added, though there might be exceptions? And maybe not all liquids would work as well as they could (for example, lava in an RC tank gives of light...

    Liquid metals could be AWESOME!

I did not know that! Thanks for pointing that out! Then thanks fred4106 who seems to be the dev of Liquid Metals for coming up with that! :) Still think it has huge potential in machines.

    Liquid metals could be AWESOME!

As title says, that's what I hope some mod developer will move towards in terms of feature development; due to Tinker's Construct most metals (and some other materials like stone and obsidian) now exist in a liquid state. It'd be awesome if some other mod picks up this, either as a prime part...
