Yeah playing in creative could save you some holes in your base ;) Btw those metal plates can be crafted two ways. First with the hammer but here is also a metal former machine which basically does the same. That machine can be used to make cables and casings too.

Last I heard Binnie was m.i.a. and there is currently a worldcorrupting bug in the mod. That's why they don't include it in the packs.

Flying saves me a lot of times. I always make sure I have a jetpack whenever I enter the Nether. Also Potion of Fire Resistance are useful when fighting blazes, but you need to have some blaze rods to make them iirc.

Do remember DW20 made his world in 1.0 version of the mod. It could have been accidentally changed with the updates to 1.0.2 or something. At least the Biomes 'O Plenty biome configs have (luckily) changed too between the 1.0 and 1.0.2 version. I can't test it right now, but I will a bit later...

Item ID conflicts, means two mods are using the same itemID for some item, which should not happen when you use a default mod pack from FTB. As the error says check the logfile for a complete report. There is a guide around this forum for solving these issues, I'll link it below...

Yeah that looks good, just a default Minecraft server. Might be a firewall somewhere.. On your end, or at the VPS. Where is it hosted? A special Minecraft VPS service or standard VPS server where you have full access and can do what you want?
