I have noticed much bigger veins (7-8 ores) in newly explored chunks. I dont recall my earlier caving expeditions around spawn revealing much more than 4 ores per vein.

Dont recall which mod its from, but its your only source of infernal bees -- as Natura biomes reduces your chances of finding an infernal hive to near zero.

I was going to try the Resonant Rise pack, but encountered out of memory issues. Played around without success. Would someone please recommend a PermGen value (is it bugged?) and java arguments for ResonantRise on a 3Gb x86 PC.

I had a similar problem dealing with dust and shard recipes, so I created an AE subnet, exported and buffered one type of items into it, and exported back the resulting crafted products to the main network. Let me know if you need more details or pics

Its intentionally not possible - CovertJaguar has commented on this several times that, by design, it requires manual intervention. You can put a gate on to alert you to do maintenance when they are worn down to 40%
