    Do you have any heart canisters active? That's the only time I've seen health not update correctly, although taking damage seems to fix it.

    You 'should' be able to use MCWorldEdit to get in and remove the rolling machine.

    Using Gas-Burning gens in my ore processing facility with no issues. Edit: yeah, read first...post second. Reason it works for me is SSP. Plz disregard.

    Earlier complaints about NEI's item use function eating way too much system resources...I got you beat. Hands down. No contest. Not even in the same league. If you think the NEI lag is bad, try programming an Inventory Manager to process everything your Quarry/DigiMiner/MFR Laser produces.

    Actual rate of generation/output is being lowered. I too thought they could be placed adjacent with no effect, but in doing so I noticed a power drop off.     Tab [with chat open] cycles commands. I finally got it. Need to use the Multiplayer chat [T], then tab toggles between MC chat and IRC.

    What @mrbaggins said and you changed the world gen engine, right? That's my guess. When I was moving stuff around in 1.6, it was all in the same world...which is prob why it worked for me. "Entire taint biome next to me turned into quartz + fluix blocks"...I don't get how this is a bad thing...

    I don't know of anything like MCE that has mod support, but I'm no expert. MCE has no trouble removing modded items, as this is the go-to fix for some problems. I even recall moving mod blocks [item ducts] with MCE no problem. Maybe it's a 1.7.x thing? Were you using the most recent version...

    If you're saying the client is unresponsive for 4-5 secs after using NEI's item use search function ['U' key], then it may be an issue with NEI or an NEI addon. Just looked and the NEI version in the pack seems 'kinda' old [1.0.3.74]...recommended version is 1.0.5.82. You might see if updating...
